Do we agree that such health and moral issues should be regulated by states rather than fedgov, per the Tenth Amendment?

The states and local governments are closer to the problems of their constituents than a distant federal entity and are better at crafting solutions unique to their citizens and their individual geographic situations. I am a strong 10th amendment supporter. If DC and it’s governing mechanisms were suddenly erased...it would be each state that would have to take emergency control to martial the populace to communal unity and action(no not communal in the “socialism” sense!) and reassure them in such a time of crisis. And the state legislatures need to get control of senatorial appointments back, via a new amendment...convention of states or other means!(which would invigorate state power again) I think a good compromise would be 2 senators from each state legislature and one voted “at large by the people”....!

Yeah...I would say we are in agreement on the 10th amendment! Similarly, if such a view on the 10th amendment had been in vogue in 1918...the Republican congress of 1918 should never have brought the 18th amendment up for a vote! The “bully bully” Republican progressivism as popularized by Teddy Roosevelt was still very much in vogue...expanded Federal government control for the good of all was all the rage in both parties... though the southern Democrats of the time were still the more “apartheid” party at that time!

Blah, blah, blah ...

Speak up, boy. No need to be ashamed of your beliefs.

Do you support alcohol prohibition?

A simple "Yes" or "No" will suffice.

Even Satan can quote Scripture, but can you tell me: Who created amanita phalloides? When He created it, was it a mistake?

It's lethal effect would likely be due to the Fall, while the theological issue here is that simply because God made something does not justify doing anything you want with it.

Congratulations. You got my point.

A real reform effort would zero in on the causes of such a scourge, this dystopic and dysfunctional need to remain altered from reality, there-bye over time diminishing the market for alcohol without violating our personal liberties.

Agreed. I don't think government is by its nature suited to the job.

I’m sure the drug dealers of Colorado are doing well. The status of Colorado’s drug addicts isn’t as obvious. I deal with drug addicts on a daily basis and they are generally everything that I said they were. There are always exceptions of course. The successful drug addict is the exception. You aren’t going to BS me. I am keenly in tune with the culture.

See post 202! The question is bigger than a simple yes or no!

I do know that Christ changed water into wine! So he isn’t against having a little wine with dinner. Drunkenness is another issue. Addictions to the point that lives are shattered, families destroyed, children left fatherless ot even parentless are pure evil!

Wrong.

Again.

Alcohol prohibition (or prohibition of any other mind altering chemical) comes down to "Yes" or "No". You either vote for or against the bill outlawing it. Think of it as a State, rather than Federal, law if it helps, but answer the bloody question.

Is you is, or is you ain't?

Out with it, boy!

When I read your posting I thought of Franklin’s response to a woman asking about what sort of government had been created...”We have given you a republic...if you can keep it!”

That needs to be thought of way more often than it is.

You don't need executive actions or congressional bills or guns to get the druggies to consolidate in Colorado. All you need is more pothead laws legalizing every type of opiate and barbituate in that state.

The way things are going - its a done deal.

I’m pretty well to the right of things politically speaking. The second amendment is my pet issue. I consider myself a defender of the constitution in general. I think the Democratic party is comprised of treasonous baby killers and I absolutely consider myself their enemy. That is not to say that I am always 100% on board with the GOP or, as I see it, that is not to say that the GOP is always 100% on board with me and, judging from the lack of love I’ve seen for John McCain around here during the 2008 election, I don’t think I need to go into specifics. For what it’s worth, I have on several occasions incurred the wrath of conservatives and conservative forums for not getting on board with the mistakes, for not towing the party line when it was clear to me that the party line was incompatible with the constitution and the ultimate goals of conservative Americans. I have, however, earned the right to say “I told you so” more times than I can remember.
The Democratic party has secured absolute power in America now. They will use their new power to entrench themselves in their seats of power. Their policies will ensure that their committee chairs and majority positions are safe forever. It is their intention to maneuver against us until our backs are against the wall and then they intend to silence our dissenting views forever. This is the party that sees baby killing and sodomy as constitutional rights but does not consider the right to keep and bear arms as such. This is the party that promotes poverty and individual irresponsibility with tax incentives and legislative policy and public school indoctrination. This is the party that extols the virtues of marxists likes Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, and Che Guevara yet openly calls men like Ariel Sharon and George Bush criminals and worse. This is the party that will take joy in making your life hell for as long as possible.
Our path will become clear once the dust has settled and once “the one” makes his move. The ball is in their court now. We have to watch and wait for an opening, for a mistake. Heal your wounds now and choose your battles very wisely from here on out. In conclusion, the longer these ticks have to dig in, the harder they will be to dig out. They have more than a foothold now. It is our job to kick that foot out from under them at the opportune moment before they can consolidate their position of power. They are the defender now and, as such, we must seize the offense and wrest the momentum from their hands. Look for friction within their party. There is much dissent to be found under a big tent such as theirs. Find it and exploit it. Widen the cracks in their foundation once they appear. Corrupt their alliances and unify your own camp under the key tenets of your conservative beliefs at the grass roots level and, by all means, secure the hearts and minds of the next generation before they do.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Overall alcohol use with its associated evils dropped among the traditional people groups already well planted in America 2nd generation to 5th or more

Is there data to support this supposition?

Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

You are getting too hung up in the letter of the law. Remember what Jesus Christ said, He is the end of the law.

Ignore the science and istead spout anecdotal lies to further your cause, eh? Are you even aware that among the hundreds of clinical applications for the plant is the fact that it is the single-most effective anti-nauseant known to man?

"...Or perhaps Gargantua...that’s just so much “cucky poo” to you!"

Precisely, Nursey-boy. You are full of s__. And just what kind of "nurse" calls themselves "MD" anything? Lying and exagerrating are just a way of life with you, aren't they?

Jesus turned water into wine so he wasn’t against having a little wine with dinner. Day after day stupored drunkenness or drug addictions to the point of family neglect or abuse, unemployment, is another matter...and that is what I have become hardened towards! (or the little lies families will say when asked why they didn’t tell the doctor of their loved one’s alcohol use...of just a “drink or two at night so it can’t possibly be why uncle George is in DT’s” Except the fact that the body gets habituated to those 1 or 2 drinks a night and can start to react when it doesn’t get those 1 or 2 drinks...which later on becomes the “admitted”(by a worried wife who is sick of having to lie for a secret drunk)to 1/2 empty fifth hidden under the couch or the six packs out in the work shop.)
