The jester was Bob Dylan. He changed from accoustic to electric guitar.

I had college course on American sub pop culture at Brookdale Community College (Brian Williams attended there, so it’s light). I took it in the summer when I was home from exotic Glassboro NJ.

A whole three hour session was used to discuss this song.

It was great, imho.

“A whole three hour session was used to discuss this song. l”

I remember when it first came out I’d lean on my counter,listen intently to our kitchen radio,and try to figure out what the lyrics meant.

Aaaah,memories.

Light= legit. Ha.

But, I think I know the inferment of each hymn.

Three ghosts; big bopper, buddy and Ritchie.

Talking about fist of rage; hells angels were the stones security at a concert in California bay area late 60’s.

As per our instructor, it was about America’s lost innocence.

Gosh, what a cool song.

I still have the 8track.

As long as you've got a book of matches to stuff under the tape so it will play, right?

Played this song on youtube after you post. Can’t believe I had forgotten it. I remember it from his re-release in 81. Great song as well. Thanks

Would be soon hanging on my wall if I had a few billion $$'s laying around. It's just a very cool song (lyrically), and very important to a lot of people.
