They all cringed but did it anyway. well, part of their diet was rat eating. His hand would be a little more repulsive I think than rat eating.

It was 28 when I took Husky girl out at 7 to romp joyously in the freezing mist while I stood shivering, and when I started down to the trail half an hour later. No ice was sticking to the deck or steps, but the rocks on the path by the riverbank most definitely had some ice on them-my boots are for hiking, not walking on ice, so I went back to the house and worked on a bid and product research. It is gloomy and 30 now, but the freezing drizzle has stopped for awhile.

MrT5 had diabetes, and at 90, he started getting strange and needed a little snack like a Glucerna bar. I was curious to know where I functioned, as someone who isn’t diabetic, and used his meter and test strips to check myself over a few days. I function between 80-95 most of the time, and I don’t get irritable or weak unless I’m below 50-apparently as long as I eat some fruit every day, I can go quite a long time without food with no ill effects.
Anybody can buy one-I have one and most of the other people I know who hike in the woods carry one with them and they are not diabetic-just need to be aware not to get too low and do something all stupid alone in the woods and get hurt.
I watch Vikings, and that seer/augur freaks me out-I keep wondering what happened to him that burned his face so badly.
Where do I find it on the internet? I want to send it to my cub-her hub is tired of going out whenever he wants to eat meat and fresh veggies-all she cooks is whole grain pasta with rozen veggies, and dessert. He is still buff and she is turning into an orca...
I’m always amazed that there are still people-even on TV-insisting that plenty of whole grains and less meat and crap like that is part of a good diet-that doctor on one of the Sunday morning shows on Fox is one of them-I see him, and the sound gets muted until he is gone.
Bingo! Meat and fresh veggies work great for me. Even frozen veggies work. Grains will make one fat.
As well as getting porky, I could not maintain an energy level adequate to do the work I do on a diet that low in protein-I’ll bet you can’t, either-maybe a very placid individual could do a desk job on one of those diets, but not a job that requires physical work.
Her name rhymes with “barf”, too...

I used to love watching the Oscars. But the films were different, then. Nowadays, there is little connection with mainstream audiences.
I don’t recall any background in the series on him describing his horrible scars. I think he was born that way just as Ragar’s baby was born without bones in his legs.
Those days were filled with so much superstition - due to lack of any knowledge on these types of deformities. But we see he was not rejected from the clan, they found a place for him.
Another thought on the scaring of the seer. Huge pots of water were heated for cooking, cleaning, etc., perhaps one of those pots was spilled on him when he was a child.
Back in the 30s in a small village not far from me- a woman accidentally tossed out a pan of scalding hot water, her one and only child was in the path - she did not see him. Scalded the boy to death, horrible accident, she never had any more children. What a terrible burden to live with, she was in her 80s when she died.
I don’t think it was ever mentioned, but he does look someone severely burned-before reconstructive surgery.
Like so many of the characters, baby Ivar was a real historical person-Ivar the Boneless, a Viking earl, son of the historical Ragnar-he really was disabled by being unable to walk, too but there doesn’t seem to be a historical account of how that happened-just that he overcame his handicap to become a total badass. British history says was killed fighting in Ireland.
That is terrible-I can’t imagine living with a burden like that.
When I was a case manager, I had a couple of comp clients who had gotten severely burned at work-they had many surgeries to graft skin, sculpt contours, etc that took many months.
