Madonna falls and the world gasps… in laughter.
Let’s be honest, most of us howled ourselves hoarse watching the self-acclaimed Material Girl morph into Material Hurl at the BRIT Awards, Britain’s answer to the Grammys.
For me, it perfectly personified the state of this once great legend’s career: dying on her a** in a pit of ignominy.
I don’t say that with any glee. I say it as someone who used to worship the ground she gyrated on.
I watched Madonna perform at London’s Wembley Stadium in 1987 with a great friend of mine. We were both 22, she’d just turned 29.
We got there early, and drank beer throughout the sun-drenched afternoon, then fell asleep at the back of the stadium only to wake up 20 minutes before show time to find 70,000 people in front of us.

There are lots of women entertainers her age that do not LOOK the way she does— one who has been ridden hard in every possible way, and doped up and drunk- a life of debauchery and bullcrap.
All of the theatrics in the world will not cover up, no talent and a willingness to say or do anything for a contract. Sad and sick. She looks like an old madam from NOLA.And even sadder she continues to throw herself and her ego in front of “fans”. Why not run a hotel or two? Or produce other artists? Because she has no talent.
Piers Morgan should include himself under that “irrelevant” label. As much as I despise Madonna, Morgan’s opinion of her matters even less.

Reminded of a time a relative tried to shock her uncle in SF by taking me to the Castro district to watch, of all things—
“The Graduate” with the biotch role model character of Anne Bancroft. Sitting there listening to the lisping comments of the largely “male” audience. The female hatred (or maybe mommy hatred?) was palpable, even as they came to the show in drag. Was not shocked— bored. Madonna is a sad case of Anne Bancroftism to her aging queer audience.

Jagger was right. Modestly talented singer/songwriter who vaulted to the “top” (ha, ha) by ever more outrageous stunts. Have to give her credit...she fooled a lot of people.

Piers went to see Madonna when 22. I thought only young teenage girls went to Madonna concerts. I wouldn’t even think of going to one.

The author isn’t quite bright enough to know that Madonna has ALWAYS been, what he says I n his article, she turned into lately.
I very much doubt that any teenage girls now days are going to see Madonna in concert. Katy Perry, Lordes, Nikki Manange, Rihanna and Taylor Swift and others yes, but Madonna, well probably not so much.
Their mothers and gay men who grew up during the early 80’s might however, but they are now in the late 40’s and early 50’s, the same age as Madonna is now.
No, Piers, even though I can't stand Madonna I didn't find it funny seeing her fall over backwards. That's something and old faggot like you would take pleasure in.
