Mr. De Niro has an estimated worth of over $200 million, and is reputed to spend $125,000 a month on his rental on Central Park West. In that sense, this tax bill doesn't seem so large. But it was unpaid, as the notice to New York City’s Department of Finance revealed. That is what an IRS lien filing is all about. But right away, Mr. De Niro took action. In fact, his spokesman Stan Rosenfeld said the problem occurred because the IRS delinquency notices had been sent to an old address. As soon as the actor learned of the tax lien, he had a check for the full amount hand delivered to the IRS.

Always loved how in Casino it was the guy who played Billy Batts that beats up Pesci’s character.

He is also doing well late in his career as a comic, Spencer Tracy-like exasperated dad (Meet the Parents, Silver Linings Playbook).

That was Frank Vincent, who went on to play Phil Leotardo on "The Sopranos."

Central Park West... Isn’t that where Trump resides when in town? I wonder if the tax lien on deNiro was the result of federal eavesdropping on apartments at that location? Maybe to spy on Trump?
