...so the base doesn’t matter.

Except that anything less than Base-7 does not recognize the character "6", and anything less than Base-6 does not recognize the character "5".

... in which case, obviously, the numbers can’t possibly be in those bases. If you see “7” you don’t think of binary, and you shouldn’t think of any other base less than 8 either, unless you think different bases apply to the different numbers (which contradicts the general notion of bases).

"Rejecting 15 plus 6 equals 17 is not being picky. It’s saving yourself from having dumb kids. Lol!"

True. On the other hand, what kind of a bride forces her fiancé to take a math test? Maybe they are BOTH lucky that the marriage was cancelled.

She may have thought he was dumb and wanted to double check.
Unless he was really drunk, he’s really stupid.

Depends on who is paying a dower and how much was paid for the wedding.
A woman walking away from the money costs at least one side some money, how much and to whom to be determined.

No, the groom collapsed with an epileptic seizure. I guess when you are involved in an arranged marriage, anyone will do. Unless of course they can’t give the right answer to a math question.

My wife used to work in an office with a (strikingly) pretty and intelligent young Indian woman. Her marriage (an arranged one) was not a happy one. She eventually got a divorce, which is fairly rare amongst Indians. Turned out her husband was more interested in his male BFF than he was in his pretty wife. I guess he was another mid-easterner who "could not bear to leave his friend's behind".

Maybe marrying the wrong guy is more common in Indian culture than we westerners thought. Good for the bride that she dropped the dumbass before marrying him.

I cannot recall being subjected to a math test at any of my weddings and have never seen a math test at any wedding I’ve attended?

We’ve only been told half the story. Granted, he was wrong; but what was her answer before her math coaches fed her the correct number?
