A kindergarten teacher from Miami has been charged with aggravated child abuse after police say he dug his nails into a girl's hand and leg just to see her cry.
Frederick Mena, 25, was arrested earlier this month in connection to the sickening incident that allegedly took place March 5 at Silver Bluff Elementary School in Coconut Grove.
According to an arrest report, Mena was teaching math to a kindergarten class when the victim, a young girl, became stymied by the material.
In his frustration, according to the Miami Dade School Police, Mena dug his fingernails deeply into the child's hand and calf, breaking the skin and leaving marks.
The reports states that Mena later admitted to the incident in a letter penned to the principal of the school.

It’s amazing that this took place in an area so close to a track of land that goes clear across the state that is full of hungry alligators.
And that the perp is still among us....
Way back when, when I was in school, incidents like this were never reported. Instead, a parent , or parents, would have a private meeting with said teacher. The problem would be solved. You would be surprised how effective this method was.
My gaydar is flashing.
He has that look of a guy who smokes a lot of weed, been in a ton of fights, and can go zero to ape-crap in seconds.
Bet the person who hired did so out of sympathy, and would not be surprised if this was a racial preference hiring.
He has the wide forehead look that many serial killers have.
“You know this wasnt the first time he did this crap.”
Where are the Dads, Grampas, Uncles and male cousins when this crap happens?
On second thought, this teacher might have been in more mortal danger, when one of our Mama Bear Female relatives found out this creep did this to one of their kids.
Maybe a little ABCs. ...and don't forget the milk and cookies!
Looks like an Affirmative Action to me.
“Back when I was in school, we had a thing called parents that dealt with teachers like this.”
I was one of those parents and so were my BIL’s.
Thank God, our youngest relative who is still in public schools was selected to attend an excellent private school starting this fall. The students at his new school stop this bs by reporting it. His older sister had a terrible teacher and saw this possibility. When she and others reported this teacher and documented their concerns, he was out of there.
It’s the lips (and perhaps an anagram of such) ... He’ll be real popular in prison where he is headed somewhere down the road.
It just seemed to link with his desire to improve his hip-hop career.
I hope that somebody keeps track of Mr. Mena. It only gets worse from here.
An ISIS recruiter is probably en route to Florida now.
Mine too.
Is this guy still breathing?
If so, why?
I’d automatically be suspicious of any male Kindergarten teacher.
Me, I would be OK with the paddle; but you can’t trust the freaks out there these days who may get off on it.
If a report came to me about my child misbehaving, me and mom would take care of it ASAP.
Scratching and breaking the skin of a kid? NOT accpetible, and I think the teacher would be fearing my wrath a lot more than any punishment the school would hand down.
As I recall, some 60 years my female kindergarten teacher did the same to me. Not for that reason, but she was there for only one year.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
