It is. I’ve got the factory half doors for summer, and full doors for the weather. Love Jeeps, this is my 4th. Had a 4 banger YJ, and then an 04 Rubicon TJ. Always wanted an LJ though and found this one locally from an old boy who bought it new here in town. Bought a 2000 TJ Sahara for my daughter too.

Love the toy factor. Next up is a Gobi roof rack with double ladders. They look great on. I admit it, it’s all pose.

Darned if that isn’t a great looking vehicle.

This thread is reinforcing my recent Jeep lust. There’s a girl at work who has a slightly lifted late model Jeep with aftermarket fender flares. That thing is so cool I almost can’t stand it. The only problem is the plasticky interior.

I wish I could find a modern Jeep but with a bare-bones ‘70s era interior.

Hehehehehehehehe! Three weeks ago, we had 1/2 inch of ice, and an inch of snow on the ground. My tomatoes shoulda been in the ground.

That said, we (MrsSgtBob & I) have been giving the air conditioners a work out over the last three days. It’s been warm, steamy, and raining. Once the tops drop, and the doors come off....;-)

We picked up some really neat “foot pegs” that fit in the lower hinge. Gotta love it!

Ain't nothing wrong with an early '80s "bare-bones" M151, and you can made it as "modern" as you want;-)

Ha! What a great story. Yeah, my dad’s Jeep was tons of fun and I couldn’t believe the power. It even had gun racks in the back window. I miss the old 4x4s like the Broncos and IH’s, just plowing down the roadway.

The wonderful thing is you can replace all the seats with something like 16 bolts.

Some companies produce custom leather, vinyl, whatever you desire.

I’ll give it a try, but sounds like we married different women.

2008 up to now, it’s better to buy new. Finding a good cheap older is possible but my take some time. I saw on a site somewhere that 2007 and newer is preferable for some reason. You guys have an opinion.

Lol. Well she is not infinitely patient. I told her I think I needed new engine work on an old Austin and she wasn't too happy about it

I’ve only had experience with the M-151, and my ‘07 JK so I really cat say why the JK is “better” than other models. I can say that since purchasing in 2010, I have had 100K trouble free miles. I have replaced the top-—the only thing I abused;-(

No, you certainly don’t get it!

I own numerous Jeeps.

I just think that people should understand what a Jeep is and is not before they go out and spend their money.

Much of what presently is marketed under the Jeep nameplate is anything but a real Jeep.

I took the "Freedom Panels" out today and thought about doing the top, but there was too much snow and besides I don't have a good hoist system to take the hard top off. It is a two door, and the hard top is about 110 lbs, but awkward to handle and if you damage a corner, there goes $2,200 bucks.

So, I cleaned the Jeep and had a good time. I even used a wet vacuum on the seats.

I went by the beach. This photo is stock, but believe me, it is the same. Wow. God is good.

Especially if “cheap” is important!

Friday evening on our way up the hill to the ranch, we stopped to get some coffee at the Jack in the Box in Sonora. We were in the drive-through line, and right in front of us was what looked like a show room fresh ‘84 CJ7 with a For Sale sign in the back window.

Instantly I became interested, and I began writing down the phone number on the sign...

Until I saw the asking price. $ 12,000.00 !!!

At this point, those that have CJs seem to know what they have.
