The New York chapter of the Boy Scouts of America has made history by hiring an openly gay adult — and telling bigotry to take a hike.
They have hired a gutsy 18-year-old Eagle Scout named Pascal Tessier to work as a camp counselor this summer at the Ten Mile River Scout Camp in upstate New York.
And nobody is prouder than his mom.
“I am,” said Tracie Felker, who lives in Hagerstown, Md., when asked about her boundary-breaking boy.
“It’s not a brave thing he is doing,” she added. “It’s something necessary, something that needs to be done.”
Legal eagle David Boies, best known for leading the fight against California’s anti-gay marriage law, said Tessier “embodies the best qualities of an Eagle Scout, and of America.”
“Permitting him to continue his service to scouts and to scouting is the right decision for the Boy Scouts, and for our community,” he said.
“In the past, barring boys and adults from being scouts and scout leaders solely based on their sexual orientation hurt them, hurt scouting, and hurt our communities. Ending that discrimination is an important step in putting an ugly chapter of American history behind us.”
Zach Wahls of Scouts for Equality called the hiring of Tessier a "watershed moment."
"For the first time in the history of the Boy Scouts, an openly gay adult will join their ranks as a camp counselor," he said. “Pascal Tessier was the first out gay scout, and now it appears that he will also be the first out gay leader.”
But in hiring Tessier, the New York scouts may have set up a potential showdown with the Texas-based national leadership of the one of the country's largest, most venerable youth organizations.

Oh boy, this is going to turn out great. Everyone knows how wonderful it was when the Boy Scouts had gay leaders before.. Have all the councils settled all the lawsuits yet? Must be time for new ones for all the children molested by the newest crop...

So, Mr. Tessier, you are an openly gay scout. Tell us about how you express your physical attraction and desires for your partner; in detail please. How is your “love” for your partner expressed, physically? How is this different from “heterosexual” attraction and desire? Be specific.
After that please tell us about your partner...you DO have a “gay” partner, right? Since you are known as ‘openly gay’, your partner’s general description would be fair (names aren’t required).
Not that you might be between relationships and possibly seeking a new relationship, right?

So does this mean women can be scout leaders now and men can go to the girls?
After all why not , I mean it would be discrimination and the reason we don’t allow it yet is because one sex is attracted to the other. So how is this 18 year old who is attracted to boys now with boys alone any different.

Mitt Romney has supported this since at least 1994, and he punished the Scouts in the 2002 Winter Olympics for their policy, and he remained with this position during the 2012 election.
Women have been Boy Scout leaders for quite some time.
My point was that the ‘openly gay’ people who want to be mainstreamed should be fully open about their physical activities and why they believe their acts are “natural”.
When faced with describing what they do and WHY they do such, normal people (the 98% of the population) should be repulsed and disgusted.

In all seriousness, how do we know he is gay?
If I were to walk into a room full of boy scouts and say, "Let me tell you about my sexual preferences...", then I would be condemned, rightly so. Think if it were a room full of girl scouts. Now this man can state openly that he is gay. How is that different? He is stating in a simple word, namely "gay", what his sexual preference is. Where is the equal protection?
