When you are a 12 year old boy, that show was the greatest thing. Hot car, cute lady, car chases. It's not Masterpiece Theatre. But usually a good little morality play. The bad guys, be they corrupt, or thieves, or whatever, got their comeuppance. And the corrupt government officials were always played in a negative light.
It was what it was. And I get why some people would not like it. But for its intended demographic, a fun show.
