in the struggle for the weapon the office was struck with the taser. The lanyard was still attached to the barb and the fleeing suspect was entangled in the lanyard. If the fleeing suspect still had the taser he could incapacitate the officer at any time. The officer shot at the suspect not knowing if the suspect still had the taser or was just caught up in the lanyard. Shooting is justified.

And it's very interesting that none of the police reports say that Slager had been tased, none of the recorded conversations of Slager with his superiors say that Slager had been tased, and the video certainly doesn't show someone who had been tased. Why do you think that is?

Running from the cops is a foolish mistake, but it shouldn’t come with a death sentence,

He did more just run from a cop. He fought a cop and grabbed his taser. This is what set the shooting in motion, not just running from him.

I’m agreeing with 13. The poor Jews had no place to run to Ms. McCain.

Is all cop haters have here?
Once the perp gives false ID, runs, fights cop, gains some control of cop’s weapon, the cop was required to stop the perp by any and all means.

Your Mr. Scott made a lot of bad mistakes, none the least of his actions that fateful day.

Lots of good info there.

All of it speculation. None of is supported by any of the official reports and recordings that have come out.

“As it turns out we’re always just one or two clever Executive Orders away from Obama declaring himself Chancellor.”

I sort have chuckle when I see all the hopeful lining up for election in ‘16....when all it would take, is a statement like this....

my fellow Americans, it is with deep regret that I advise you that my CIA, has discovered an appended insurrection to overthrow your elected government during the up coming elections....to prevent this 5th column insurrection...I am postponing the coming election, and I will remain in the White house, to command the Military to combat this sinister threat to our country....to the applause of Democrats and CNN newsroom....

Ok, so your position is to shoot the police?

Scott ran because he was behind in his child support. It cost him his life. That’s sad. Although, I’ve known women over the years who would have cheered such a shooting.

Because there is zero evidence that Scott shot Slager with the taser.

Because Slager never said that Scott shot him with the taser, and nowhere in any of the reports or recordings that have been released has anyone ever said that Scott shot Slager with the taser.

Because Scott would never have had the opportunity to shoot Slager with the taser. There is no doubt that Slager shot Scott with the taser - so, when did Scott have enough time (and separation from Slager) to reload the cartridge so he could shoot Slager?

Because I live in the world of evidence. You can spin all of the hypothetical possibilities of what might theoretically have happened between Scott and Slager. If ya can’t prove it, it didn’t happen.

Ok, so your position is to shoot the police?"

Begging the question, false accusation, argumentum ad baculum again (appeal to the stick, force, coercion or threat in re. false accusation). MeganC did not state such a position.

“No. He didn’t.”

I know, But some people lie... That’s what they do.

“In the United States of America, the police are not going to toss you into a concentration camp and gas you to death. At least not yet.”

Some of the cops in this country are every bit as bad as the Nazis. Probably a lot in some places...

AND in fact... Before the video EVIDENCE was released, Slager actually moved the taser next to Scott’s body. He didn’t put that in his report.

Wonder what he was thinking?

Did he lie in his report?

More broadly speaking, do some police officers lie in their official reports? What is the rank of evidence from police testimony and reports? Pretty high up there?

I don’t think most do, so I’m not painting with a broad brush, BUT for those cops that would move evidence/perjure/lie/file false reports, I have nothing but anger and hatred. THOSE need to spend MORE time in jail than normal citizens for doing such things, because of the trust, authority and responsibilities we give them as officers.

“Also, this is the United States of America. 0bama Plus notwithstanding, we are NOTHING like Nazi Germany. So, please, govern your speech judiciously.”

Wake up. We, in most areas, live in a police state.

Thank you, familyop! My personal and long-standing policy is that I refuse to fall into the liberal trap of defending things they wish I had said.

I defer to Dick Cheney when he was confronted with a reporter who said...

Reporter: “So you’re saying...”

Cheney: “I said what I said. Next question.”

Because I live in the world of evidence.?

Don’t we all. I doubt you have any, ANY hard evidence by which to be thumping you “self assuming authoritative” chest.

How do you know the cop did not know the perp was in control of the taser?

Which points to the FACT your opinion is no more valid than anyone’s opinion.

But one thing is evidence, the perp gave a false ID, ran, fought the cop, the cop and perp had some tangle in the taser wires, all of which gets to the laws of engagement that requires the cop to stop the perp by any means at his disposal at that point. Had he not stopped the perp and the perp then hurt or killed someone else, you and all the others would be screaming “the damn cop just let him get away”.

If that man did not have the right to trial by jury before his execution at the hands of the government, you and I do not either.

Bravo! We stand up for everyone's rights because we are part of the group of everyone.

“Ok, so your position is to shoot the police?”

Sam... you have a God given right to defend your self if you reasonably fear for your life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a rattlesnake, a UPS driver or a cop. Te fact is, cops do murder innocent people.

Criminals usually murder other criminals. Not so with cops...

If you are a law abiding citizen you are much more likely to have a gun aimed at you by a cop than by a criminal, so long as you don’t associate with criminals.
