I was terrified at first when I read that Cruz asked churches to reinforce what marriage really is. Even I was indoctrinated by the left to think that religion should never be mentioned in a political race. But now I realize I was wrong. Go for it!!
This was NEVER supposed to be an atheist nation. It was a Christian nation that tolerated other religions. More in line with Israel.
Now it is an abomination and Cruz can bring us back to where we need to be.

I visit other political sites besides Free Republic and it's hilarious watching the brainwashed Clintonites rant and rave about Ted Cruz. I truly believe that when he is nominated, most of them are going to hurl themselves over a cliff. They have this idea that Ted Cruz will lock up or execute atheists or something. And don't even mention the promise to eliminate Obamacare. They go ballistic.

Perhaps Cruz can lead the nation toward constitutional reclamation.

I say “toward” because no man can entirely reverse in four or eight years what took our nation a hundred years to achieve.

Obama has gathered arbitrary, despotic powers into the executive branch. IOW, the precedent of tyranny has been established.

Of course, no one expects anything but exemplary behavior from a Cruz administration. The problem is that like it or not, our government runs on precedent far more than the rule of the supreme law of the land, our constitution.

Ultimately, unless our governing institutions are reformed simultaneously with a Cruz presidency, subsequent presidents will have Obama’s despotic powers. Whatever Cruz does will be a flash in the pan, a nostalgic few years for conservatives, much like those of Ronaldus Magnus.

My hope is for Cruz to blow the doors off standard presidential campaigns, and announce his support for an Article V state convention to return to a senate of the states and restore vertical separation of powers.

I have no problem with that... :-)

Great post. I can see where the strength of the president under this monster has grown into a behemoth. If we get Cruz, that would be great but then another monster could win in eight years. You are right. Lets put the power back where it belongs!!

Atheists can never be trusted to follow Judeo-Christian morals & values that America was founded.

The fact they reject God, the source of ALL freedoms & rights, speaks volumes of their inner core and true intellect.

Hysteria over Cruz -from both parties- has become a parody of itself... like a jealous sibling having inexplicable tantrums, who would take such dubious ‘commentary’ seriously anymore, they’re making asses of themselves

“Welcome to FR. Why did you decide to join and post?”

Maybe because nobody signs up until they want to post and everybody has a first post.

We were all babies at some point

Amen.

Freedom of Religion was never meant to mean that it was NOT to be mentioned in public.

And I carry a little Constitution/Declaration of Independence (stuck in my holster!) around with me just to prove certain things when the discussion comes up.

What’s IN the Booklet:

1. Freedom of Speech
2. Freedom of Religion
3. Freedom of the Press
4. Freedom to peaceably Assemble
5. Freedom to carry firearms
6. Freedom from the quartering of soldiers in my home
7. Freedom from unwarranted search and seizure
8. Freedom not to incriminate myself
9. Right to Life
10. Right to Liberty
11. Right to pursue happiness

What’s NOT in there (neither document)

1. Right to an abortion
2. Right to own a house
3. Right to not be offended
4. Right to taxpayer-funded healthcare
5. Right to taxpayer-funded housing
6. Right to taxpayer-funded education
7. Right to taxpayer-funded college loans with no need to repay
8. Right to a cell phone
9. Right to the Internet
10. Right to change my gender at taxpayers expense
11. Right to force other people to celebrate my sinful lifestyle
12. Right to take from others if I like what I see and want it for myself
13. Right to enter the country illegally and take a job away from someone who lives here

I mean...I am not a Constitutional Scholar, but I can read.

LOL!

9. Right to the Internet

Should read "Right to Rule the Internet". That's what they want.

From Federalist 84 (Hamilton):

I go further and affirm that bills of rights, in the sense and to the extent in which they are contended for, are not only unnecessary in the proposed Constitution but would even be dangerous. They would contain various exceptions to powers which are not granted; and, on this very account, would afford a colorable pretext to claim more than were granted.

He was half-right.

There should have been a bill of limitations and enumerated rights.

Sadly, Amendment IX opens the door for more claims of “rights.”

At one point in Wayne’s World (the movie), they are trying their schtick of “homosezwhut” on Christopher Walken and he’s not falling for it, and in fact, he calls them on exactly what they are doing. They cower in fear.

This is what Cruz is doing to the left and the MSM.

They only “revere diversity” because it dilutes the Christian/Western influence in our culture.

I hear you.
By enumerating the Rights and defining them, it leaves the door open to create more.

Human Nature, I guess.
