I made observations which are demonstrably true.

The NFL has changed the rules to favor the passing attack.

When rules are changed in order to favor one thing over another, it brings about uniformity and stifles imagination.

The NFL, for better or worse, is what it is, a money making business. The owners think more points on the board equal more money in the bank, hence the rule changes in favor of passing.

I knocked the NFL in general, using Tim Tebow’s style of play as an example.

More than a few players call the NFL “The No Fun League.”

You can call my views names all you want, but it doesn’t make what I said wrong or untrue.

The NFL and its coaches have no imagination.

I also said that it is unrealistic for an offense to have a run option QB and a classic drop back passer as a back up, or vice versa. It would require two different offenses and that just isn’t practical.

For Tim Tebow to play in the league, or someone like him, would require imagination, a new offensive scheme and a backup QB that can also run the read option.

None of that is going to happen, because if it doesn’t work (and I don’t know that it would) a coach would be out of a job. (there’s that guts thing)

Demonstrably true? Maybe in your mind.

Rules weren't changed to keep the QB in the pocket. That style was determined as the most effective long before the rules changed to protect QBs and they will probably keep changing. There have even been changes (sliding) for QBs outside the pocket. It's not as if the owners actually care what style is used. What they care about is protecting their investment.

And, no, it wouldn't take imagination to change the "style" so Tebow can play. As I stated before, there has been an evolution of the game as to what works best. Your running style QB is as old as the game. The wild cat is also an old formation used long ago. There aren't too many secrets in play formations. Teams stopped using those old styles for obvious reasons -- pocket QBs who get the ball to the play-makers are more effective and successful.

More than a few players call the NFL “The No Fun League.”

Yeah, because these idiots can't dance with the cheerleaders after scoring TDs. There's a reason for not allowing that level of taunting too.

This is the bottom line (pun intended) and the most persuasive of your arguments. Try a dialectic approach, though not necessarily Socratic in style. You may get better results. I stress may.
