Very interesting historical analysis, but obviously flavored with Southern spice. Not that that’s a BAD thing ... Heaven knows the South needs its defenders. It’s been fair game for every tinhorn cultural elitist for decades now, a status it in no way deserves.
Let’s rip open the stitches and bleed the nation some more.
The Civil War is over. It’s been over for about 150 years now.
There is no one from that time left alive.
The notion that the South fought just for state rights is baloney. The notion that the North fought just to free the slaves is baloney.
The one truth is that the Civil War is over.
There are no Irish Americans in this country. An Irish American would be an American now living in Ireland. There are Americans of Irish Descent. Just like there are Americans of German Descent and Americans of Italian Descent and Americans of African Descent and Americans of Mexican Descent. But we are all Americans.
Other nations seek to turn us against each other for their economic benefit. Screw them.
I never owned a slave. I never killed a Confederate Soldier.
I have been to Atlanta and I have been to New York City. I didn’t see a dimes worth of difference between the two.
We are Americans.

I also disagree with the premise that Western is good and Southern is bad. I think both are bad in the liberal left view.
