WTF? What in God’s name is the wrong with some cops now?
They helped him. At least he did not drown. That one is up there along with: He/She was killed by a friend.
I wonder if the gun they found on him was a plant. cant wait to hear the full explanation of what happened.
Again, further proof if further proof is required, that involving the police only makes any situation worse.
I wonder how many FReepers will read the story or wait for more information before automatically assuming the police are guilty.

Maybe they also gave a few beers for his brother to drink so they could arrest him for intoxication.
He doesn’t look like a dog to me. As far as a gun, it was Oklahoma. Nothing unusual there.

Asking “WTF” is not assuming the police are guilty. What do you expect the further information to be...”we had to kill the assistant pastor to save him”?
Always have to wait a few weeks until the real story comes out - never believe the first story presented.
I really can’t conceive how this can be justified.

Bad accidents that result in someone’s death at the hands of another are called “manslaughter”.
I see the headline but the story gives absolutely no idea why guns were drawn.

In the comments, there was someone race baiting and wondering where all the people that run to the defense of the police are.
If I wanted to waist my time to register, I would reply to him that it is because the “Black Lives matter” rebel rouses don’t care about white lives and are not out trying to lynch the police. Thus, civilized people are taking a wait and see stance.
Better than thinking that they gunned the guy down deliberately.

Speculation based upon the lack of facts available but some experience in dealing with cops, rednecks, and redneck cops.
Cops didn’t want to risk having to do a water rescue, and ordered the folks to abandon the truck to its fate and move to higher ground. Folks wanted to try to save their truck, and refused. Cops didn’t like that, and tried to force them to obey. Situation quickly spiraled out of control.
Dashcam video might help.
