Good idea, a billionaire can fund it, I’d go in exchange for for a house by a lake, promise of a state legislative berth, and a comely lass.

Anyway, rat Governor Peter Shumlin is not running for reelection. Despite it being a POTUS year the GOP should have a chance.

For a state election or a national election?

Not that many for a state or local election, maybe, but as the state went to Obama with 67% and 66& of the vote in the last two elections you'd have to move a substantial part of the state's population into or out of the state to affect the state's vote in a presidential election.

I suspect 1) your numbers may not include independents, who would most likely vote Democrat in presidential elections and 2) a lot of Vermont Republicans wouldn't be considered Republican in some other parts of the country.

But forty years ago, somebody somewhere asked a question like yours, got people thinking and moving, and eventually pushed Vermont into the Democrat column, so who knows what could happen?
