What do we call me? Im a 26-year-old writer who lives in a gentrifying neighborhood in Brooklyn. Im a straight white man with a single-speed bike and a mustache. I studied liberal arts in college, and I have ideas about stuff, you guys.
Millennial? Hipster? Yuppie? All of these, or none? We dont have a term that quite encapsulates this corner of the despicable millenn-intelligensia. And like any other privileged member of a so-called creative class, being called a hipster offends me for its inaccuracy. I demand to be snarked in precise terms.
Let's consider something new: Yuccies. Young Urban Creatives. In a nutshell, a slice of Generation Y, borne of suburban comfort, indoctrinated with the transcendent power of education, and infected by the conviction that not only do we deserve to pursue our dreams; we should profit from them.
I am the yuccie. And it sounds sort of, well, yucky.

Self-loathing is hip. And you know what makes it hip? One thing, and one thing only. The same thing that has made anything hip for the last ten thousand years. It is that thing, if young men do it, young women will reward them with sex.
So the real question is, what is influencing young women to reward self-loathing losers with their bodies? So much so, that the females then become so disgusted that they then have to go screw teenagers for a little manliness?
What could it be? Something vast, focused on females, dedicated to total mind control, and scheming enough to convince women to destroy everything they love in the name of loyalty alone. Hmmm...
So do I. Brooklyn, to be exact. It has become infested with these people.
26 year old liberal arts major with a one-speed bike, who has to tell us he can grow a mustache?
Does the particular house that he lives in, in this "gentrifying neighborhood in Brooklyn", happen to belong to his mother?
Hmmm ... I live in West Virginia, and work for an engineering firm in regular Virginia ...
I visited a client once in NYC. It was a bit of culture shock ...
Bullcrap! Modern day Marine Corps boot camp is just as tough as its ever been. I suspect the other services haven’t changed all that much either. The performance of our young Marnes, soldiers, sailors and airmen has been nothing short of magnificent in Iraq and Afghanistan. These kids are just as good as their fathers and grandfathers were. Talk trash about them all you want, but they are doing everything asked of them and then some.
Love it:)
It's retro and minimalist. I have one I use for occasional bombing around, and it's a different kind of fun. You can spend more time enjoying the ride without the distraction of shifting gears. As long as you stay away from huge hills, it's fine.
Mine is a 60cm 1980 Schwinn World Traveler frame (used to be a 3-speed) with a leather saddle, comfort bars, and no fenders.
Yep. Almost everything they have is either borrowed or reactionary counter-culture. Sometimes I wonder if they've ever had an original thought.
But is the hot chocolate mix organic? We’re the cows fed 100% Orgsnic and non GMO feed? We’re they free range cows? Were the trucks used run on bio diesel? Was the cardboard box the store got it is recycled? How much do they pay their employees? Are they unionized? What measures does the store take to be more green?
I must know the answers to these super important questions before I can decide if if even want to drink hot chocolate, mom.
.
Well said.
The guy needs to lose the sense of entitlement and swap “deserve to” for “hope to.” There’s nothing new, or wrong, with wanting to work at something you enjoy, or to be your own boss. But it has always been a gamble. Go for it if you want, but accept the risk and never whine.
LOL!
This spoiled, weak minded generation is cowardly, unable to believe anything not approved by the Leftist culture. If there is a leader among them, they will follow him over the cliff as the lemmings they are.

I think they would call him a douche.
Remember when a person did not feel required to explain what he did with his private parts.
Unemployable in the Private Sector.
A fine example of a wasted college matriculation and tuition.
A drain on the taxpayers of New York and the US.
An empty voice in an ever expanding ocean of indifference.
Soon to be living in his mom’s basement by Christmas.
Soon to be avoided like the plague.
When not hassling those who have made it and complete strangers, with “Spare change, bro?”
Just another worthless individual asking himself, “Where did I go wrong?!!!”
“Your wasted life is NOT my. Or anyone else’s responsibility!”
