If transgender people can do their thing and receive special treatment even when their DNA is 100 percent the opposite of what they want to be, why can't I claim to be Mexican and get special benefits?

People been doing that for years—I have a friend—a teacher—whos ancestry is Swiss—but his name sounds Spanish—He is as white as any German/Swiss. Long ago—in the 30 years war—a Spanish Mercenary ended up in Switzerland and he stayed and got married. The fellow speaks Spanish only because he took it in college and never spoke it well. He was passed off as a “Latino” to get more money for the school where he teaches. It was a fraud.

When you think about it, what’s stopping people from checking off any box they want under “racial categories”?
Don’t forms simply ask you for the race/ethnicity with which you “most closely identify”?
I’m wondering if there’s even a law governing which category you must check. Is anyone ever asked to provide evidence?
My children could check off multiple categories, and they would be telling the honest truth. But they tend to leave those boxes blank. AFAIK, no one is even required to check off a box. That’s what I’d like to see - everyone leaving the racial classification section blank.
Human. But of course in today’s PC world that may be a bad thing.
