They are known as the weaker sex, yet they regularly outlive the men in their lives.
Now, scientists think they know why.
They say that an accident to inheritance means that it is men, not women, who are the weaklings.
Geneticist Neil Gemmell says that mothers are cursing their sons by giving them defective DNA.
This DNA has subtle effects on everything from brain and heart health and muscle strength to fertility and so helps send men to an early grave.
The same DNA isn’t harmful to women, in fact it is ‘exquisitely adapted’ to their needs.

How is it that women contribute the poison genes, but MEN are considered "weaker?"
And longevity is hardly a synonym for "strength," come to think of it.
The fact that males die more than females at every age from every cause is not news.
I’ve always explained that males are fragile, even though they are physically stronger.
I interpret the information along the lines of what has long been known. Women are more clustered around averages and men are more varied among the extremes.
Whether it be physical abilities or intellectual capacity or emotional stability or, probably in this case, health, women tend to not vary from the mean average to the same extent that men do. There are some guys that can hardly handle a physical environment that isn’t antiseptic and there are other guys that can probably survive a nuclear winter

Mr. M has been told that he cannot die before I do because he and only he knows how to change the oil in my car. In fact, it is his job to keep my gasoline tank full and to mow the back yard. There’s a whole list but you get the idea. even though he is several years older than I am and male, I expect to die first since I’m left handed.
That’s why when a man hits a woman, it is just called a fistfight.
Who the hell calls them the weaker sex? That is a saying, and like most, has no basis in fact.
Each is what it should be, with complementary distribution of strengths.

OK, tigers and lions live shorter lives than humans, so tigers and lions are weaker than humans? I don’t think the author knows the definition of the word “weaker.”

Males tend to put themselves out there, in harm’s way.
The good effects of testosterone make the light burn brighter, the bad effects cause a shorter lifespan.
In the male population there are far more morons and far more geniuses than in the female population. If you are male and the dice fall well for you then you are blessed... otherwise cursed.

God says women are the "weaker vessel". But he also commands men to treat wives with honor and with understanding and as fellow-heirs of the grace of life.
It is Christianity which lifted women from the position of property to persons.
I am a cat and he is a dog. I take care of him too though. Although until recently he did all the cooking and cleaning. Come to think of it, I am very spoiled.
