FULL TITLE: Josh Duggar 'facing civil suit from molestation victim' forcing family to reveal scandal secrets under oath and name who knew what when about offenses
Josh Duggar and his family may be heading to court as a victim of his molestation is reportedly planning to file a civil suit.
InTouch reports that the individual is a non-Duggar victim, and according to a law enforcement insider is not happy with the way the family presented the scandal to the media after it was revealed what Josh had done to minor girls as a teenager.
'I have heard that the [non-family] victim is preparing to sue,' said the insider.
'This whole sordid affair with Josh rattled a lot of people, including the victim, who had to relive this nightmare all over again all while watching Josh's parents go on TV and whitewash what happened.'

If everyone in my neighborhood where I grew up got sued for playing “7 minutes in heaven” out in the tents during sleepovers when we were kids the lawyers would declare a holiday.
Full Disclosure: I was so young and shy I though kissing was the goal, and refused to play because I didn’t want to kiss a girl. Nowadays I know why my older friends liked playing it so much.
That depends. Were your playmates acting with consent or were they the victims of sexual assault?
I don’t blame him so much as the parents. I really feel they cared more about getting money from TLC and those girls. Plus you gotta understand how Gothardists work. . Bill Gothard teaches that girls and women are at fault for being molested. I’m shocked she’s coming forward now but I’m trilled.
If you were playing "7 minutes in heaven" with a 5 year old and you were 15, you should be in prison.
I guess he’ll be convicted under the law that made kids playing doctor without a license a felony.
Problem here is the Duggers had a house so big, so full of children they were out of control. I’m not against a lot of children mind you but they, Michelle and Jim Bob had no control of the situation.
First they had Josh molesting all the girls. Now they have a lawsuit. All this of running an orderly family was an illusion. They never had control to begin with.
I think the Civil Lawsuit timeline is expired unfortunately. They may “settle” to “make it go away”. It never does for the victims. The settlement may provide money for needed therapy. I imagine that the media exposure brought up all the hurt again.
Real people are hurt by sexual misconduct when older children or adults abuse younger children.
The victims sometimes become angry bitter people and militant activists. I think many of the LGBT activists were sexually abused and sometimes they were victimized by people with religious backgrounds. Thus the militant hatred of religion and a desire for “payback”.

If they were suing over the molestation, maybe. It appears they are suing instead over the recent statements made to the media, though.

‘There’s an argument to be made that, “Yes, I know what you did to me then, but [at X years of age] I couldn’t comprehend the effect it would have on me now,”’ said Jason Files, an attorney from Little Rock.
This being a civil case also presents one giant problem for Josh’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle as not only would they be forced to testify, they would be unable to plead the fifth.
‘Where there’s no legitimate threat of prosecution, the Fifth Amendment shouldn’t apply,’ said Files.
‘I’d argue that there’s no basis for a refusal to answer.’ “
Sounds like someone is filing something, and it’s against all the duggars.

I’ve seen others make that comment here, but I’ve never seen a source for it. Gothard certainly has a lot of unbiblical teachings, particularly regarding women, so it could well be true, but how do you know it’s true?
I want to be very clear: I don’t support Bill Gothard at all. Over the years I’ve known a number of people who got caught up in the Gothard stuff, particularly in the 80’s. My family moved our membership from a Southern Baptist Church we loved after a significant group of members got caught up with Gothard and split our congregation. I have warned my wife and daughters about the Duggars for a long time specifically because of my reservations about Gothard.
That’s why they had the older kids responsible for the younger ones.
