It was the glitz and glitter of Hollywood and Nashville and later Detroit and then Wall Street that turned the United States into the land of the quick and easy buck, where work is for suckers, and people spend more time figuring out how to scam others for money than working for it. That’s at every level of the economy.
Sexual sins have been around much longer than the US and will continue long after this nation is gone in a few decades. Our downfall was greed and laziness and we demanded a government that would cater to those desires.
We got it. We got the stock market we demanded—the one that sells our jobs overseas to bump up profits. We got the banks we demanded that give easy credit to all so they can have whatever they desire right now. Elton John’s homosexuality is merely a fart in a hurricane compared to the America that we demanded and got. Now the bills are coming due and the cards are maxxed out.

If somebody really, really wants to become upset over music performers and content, better check out the moves by Elvis Presley long before Elton came on the scene.
There was nothing hidden about the puritanical objections to him at the time.
