One of the things that sets our Corps apart from the other services is that our enlisted undergo a what is generally perceived as a tougher initial training than their officers. When I was going through Quantico in 1968, you could hear the DIs endlessly screaming some variation of “you wouldn’t last a day at Parris Island.” They’re both designed to weed out the weak, and back then it was a brutal process...but it gives the troops a special sense of “esprit de corps” to think they’e done something their officers couldn’t hack..

The Marine Corps is very good at what it does when it comes to making Marines. That goes for officer and enlisted. Both training tracks emphasize leadership. That emphasis on leadership is what makes the Marine Corps great. We are also very good at pushing leadership down to the lowest level. In the army a Plt Sgt is usually a SSgt or Sgt1st Class. In the Marine Corps it’s not uncommon to see a Sgt in that billet. The army has SSgts running squads, we have Sgts and Cpls running them.

I saw this photo somewhere else on the internet and I believe this is a Poolee at a Recruiting Station event. The DIs are there to give them an idea of boot camp. Hence the reason that the female DI is there. It is not a boot camp photo.

"Looks RACIST!!!"

OMG!

You are right, and sexist!!!!!!

That young fella in the middle is obviously mentally undressing that female DI, and that is the only thing on his dirty mind.

Disgusting!

Obviously he is trying to become a Under paid, over sexed teenage American Killer! and should be wiped off the face of the earth! (Thank you Eleanor Roosevelt)
