Fox Moderators Sadly Were the Story: Cowardly, Disdainful, Partisan
Vanity ^ | 6 Aug 15 | Xzins

Wallace: Everyone knew Wallace was a gotcha question interviewer. He brought that same insecurity to the debate. There was no doubt that every question he asked of a conservative, non-establishment candidate was an attack question. The question that shows the worst of Wallace was he actually invited Kasich to attack Trump. That was cowardly. He didn't have the guts to do what he wanted to do, no doubt due to some journalistic reserve he would purport to represent, but he then tried to triangulate Kasich into doing it for him. Kasich's refusal highlighted the truth about Wallace's cowardice

Kelly: Not just her voice, but her entire demeanor dripped sarcasm and superiority throughout the entire debate. The best example are her attacks on religion. Her attack on Kasich for a St Peter analogy, and her "God talks to you question" were all directed at believers who have stood up for their Christian faith. Cruz, Kasich, Walker, Carson, and Rubio were hit with what is disdain toward religious people who actually believe their religion. Apparently, they are viewed by Kelly with disdain. Mocking Kasich about 'invoking God' really sticks in my mind.

Baier: I suppose it's good to know that Trump won't support a lousy republican nominee, but to start a debate with a show of hands over what was an issue Trump had already declared his position on was an effort to have him back down or face rejection. So, the follow on question would have been "you flip flopped" if Trump didn't hold up his hand. It was an attack if Trump did hold up his hand. In other words, "Trump, have you stopped beating your wife." Baier created a partisan PRO-REPUBLICAN moment when he's supposedly neutral. His other questions were certifiably partisan.

Fox News resuscitated Hillary’s war on women political campaign message against Republicans.

Kelly, Wallace, and Baier were working for the DNC tonight.

It was sickening to watch.

if you can’t handle megyn kelly, there’s no way you can handle putin, ISIS, the north koreans, or the chinese.

Yep, Trump over cut-up humor and Walker over life of mother when his position was to try to save both baby and mother.

Megyn Kelly proved tonight that behind those megawatt teeth and that hot body is nothing more than a Candy Crowley clone.

The only thing wrong with the questions was Megyn Kelly’s flibberdegibbetency.

Agreed, xzins. Megan Kelly really seems to have a chip on her shoulder.

I don’t stand in a shooting gallery and allow putin, Isis and Kim to take free shots.

A candidate goes into these with rules governing the process. I’m betting one of those rules is that moderators are not to take sides. We were outraged over Crowley breaking that rule. Why not WallaceKellyBaier?

Kelly proves she is a light weight.

Wallace is a poor excused cut from his commie Dad.

Brett Baier was somewhat decent person.

Fox showed they are GOPe light

Seemed like a second rate high school production by nerdy teachers.

I’m leaning Trump but I personally think Carson was the most dignified and Presidential.

>>>if you can’t handle megyn kelly, there’s no way you can handle putin, ISIS, the north koreans, or the Chinese<<<

If you’re referring to Trump, he handled her pretty well.

Did you catch her sarcastic God reference when she was asking the final questions?

I thought they asked tough and decent questions of everyone, that part was okay.

My wife said that she hated Megyn bringing up the gender stuff, that most women don't care about PC gender crap when the country is going down the tubes; she did not appreciate Megyn crowing that way, that was the only really bad part.

No one was spared, which was good.

Cruz, without getting much time, helped himself. Kasich was asked some tough questions, boy has he gone from wooden to touchy feely, whoa. Trump did okay, did get a couple of tougher questions than normal, but Jeb didn't get off at all, he had some tough ones.

It was a difficult format. Ten people is almost impossible. I thought, all things considered, people learned a few things about some candidates, or got an inkling and it was a good start. The bias other than the Megyns women's thing wasn't overwhelming.

Carson was good. I agree. Came out of the gate a bit slow, but then he really warmed to it. My suggestion is he watch a previous debate before coming on stage for the next debate.

We had trouble streaming it, but what we saw was a disgrace.
Trump needs to go third party. Screw them. (They have no intention of winning the 2016 election. The rest of the candidates- except for Ben Carson, are too squishy & too scripted.)

Why do you suppose Kelly asked a disdainful “hear from God” question only to those who’d made their Christianity public?

How could she have gotten the same info without the disrespectful of religion approach?

Other than 2008 when Ron Paul refused to blindly support the unknown eventual nominee.

Fox is becoming so plastic and big box. I’m ready for a down home old fashioned debate, ala C- SPAN where we can eliminate the wacko media and just truly get to know these candidates....

Just the candidates and the American people, please....
