Everything naturally produced by nature was intended to keep us healthy.

Oh?

Then have some of this delightful nightshade and oleander salad.

However the fat in milk is what enables you to break down the nutritional content.

It is sort of like people who advocate raw foods, yes they have more nutrition but it is of no use because you body can not access them.

Cooking reduced the nutrients over all but raises dramatically the number of nutrients your body can access which makes the food better for you.

Mother lived to be almost 101. Drank milk and ate butter almost every day of her life. Her heart and blood pressure were in better shape than mine until the stroke that took her life.

“Then have some of this delightful nightshade and oleander salad.”

Darwin’s gifts to the world. We are kept healthy by weeding (no pun intended) out those who looked at these plants and said, “I wonder what this tastes like?” Or they said, “yeah, give it to Mikey, he’ll eat anything.”

Like apples, oranges, bananas, pears, peaches, strawberry....etc....

You might want to check your facts....

And Rush was reading a scientific study yesterday debunking the government’s report decades ago that skipping breakfast will make you fat. In truth, people who skipped breakfast in the current studies lost weight.

We’ve been lied to by the food corporations and medical industry for years.

It all boils down to money.

MSG was found to be related to several serious health problems at least 15 years ago, and if you look at some labels, it’s not easy to find anything in the grocery store without it right now. I haven’t found a can of soup without MSG listed on the label. Lots of other things.

WHY??? MSG is also highly addicting. Food companies put it in their food so you’ll want more (and buy more). Ever notice people saying they eat Chinese food and are hungry again in an hour? That’s not the food, it’s the MSG they were putting in it. I’ve noticed many Chinese buffets have started putting up NO MSG signs. Good thing. The MSG makes you want more. It’s not only addictive, it blocks the mechanism that tells you your stomach is full. So you don’t know you’ve actually had enough and eat more.

Butter and dairy. The original “4 food groups” chart used in the 60’s had milk and dairy at the top. Know why? It was produced by the dairy association.

Milk fat is a form of natural fat, your body knows how to handle it. The real problem is hydrogenated vegetable oil. It puts a type of fat in your diet you body does not know what to do with.

I looked up cholesterol a couple of years ago, my mother insisted cholesterol was causing heart attacks and heart disease, she still today refuses to use butter, uses margarine instead. Here’s what I found out.

Hydrogenated vegetable oil was originally used as an ingredient in paint, varnish and putty, because it hardens in contact with oxygen. Including the oxygen in your blood stream. The companies that made it wanted to sell more but didn’t want to pay for the pigs to have it tested for human use. (typical corporation) Some brainiac salesman got the bright idea to just sell it to pig farmers and have a researcher test those pigs.

All went wlel, the pigs got fat quick and everybody was happy, till the pigs started dying before they could be sent to market, from cancer and heart attacks. Hydrogenated vegetable oil. The researcher was bribed to change his report (and admitted to it later) and blamed it on cholesterol. That’s how cholesterol became the greatest scam ever perpetrated on the American people.

I looked again fairly recently and couldn’t find the articles I originally found, but I did find some good articles by doctors, describing the basic cholesterol scam, and the useless state of statins. Most doctors who are telling you to lower your cholesterol actually know very little about it, just the propaganda they’ve been fed by the AMA. (translate super rich doctors heavily invested in the pharmaceutical industry)

Virtually none of the research that has been done has actually found any link between cholesterol and heart disease, in fact it’s the reverse. In 3 separate studies autopsies were done on people who had died of heart attacks. If cholesterol causes heart disease, you would expect to see at least 75% of these people with high cholesterol right?

Nope. Just over 50% had LOW or normal levels.

Cholesterol is actually required for proper brain function, building healthy cell walls and to help turn sunlight into vitamin D.

I never touch margarine, I avoid hydrogenated oils if possible, eat like a horse and have only had to lose weight at one point, when I was just over 40 and my metabolism slowed down. Haven’t been to a doctor in over 30 years except for a severe case of athlete’s foot, no allergies, rarely get the flu and never ever get a cold. (plenty Cayenne pepper, vitamin C and garlic will prevent a cold.)

But it’s not just one thing that makes people gain weight. Americans have gradually moved over to a much more sedate lifestyle, processed foods are just plain unhealthy to begin with, and junk food has become much more popular than decent meals.

If you really need to lose weight, understand how you GAINED it. Little or no breakfast, junk food lunch, pig out for dinner and how much exercise do you get? Point the remote at the TV is about it.

So you reverse that. Eat something for breakfast. You won’t be starving all day. Even a donut or two is ok, you’ll burn it off. Same for lunch, avoid junk food at all times though.

Now dinner...salad and nothing else. You can sit there and eat salad all night, the only calories you’ll see is in the salad dressing. So take it easy on that.

And get some exercise. I mean work up a sweat for an hour. It works, I did it. Twice. I paddled my boat 2 miles each way every day before dinner. 2 months and I lost over 30 lbs. I didn’t switch to just salad, I just cut down the amount I ate. And avoided fatty stuff. I never touch anything fried anyway so I never missed that.

The great thing is you can fudge now and then. Most of the time, avoid greasy, fatty foods, but if you want pizza now and then get a small personal pizza for lunch once a week. Just avoid taking in loads of calories for dinner.

The trick is to burn off more calories than you take in.

Back to the money...diet foods have been mentioned. Do you really think those help you lose weight? If they did what would happen? You’d quit buying it, right? So don’t believe Slim Fast actually wants to help you lose weight. They want to SELL YOU MORE.

Same for anything labeled diet, lite, etc. Avoid it like the plague. You’re not overweight because you have a chemical deficiency...and every form of artificial sweetener I know of has been found to be seriously unhealthy. Or outright deadly...chemicals are used in place of the nutrients cooked out during the processing of most commercially produced foods.

I also recently found out the recently popular canola oil is also just as bad as the conventional hydrogenated cooking oil. It’s actually made from Rapeseed, an oil originally used as an industrial penetrating oil and insecticide. It was genetically modified to reduce the amount of the compound that make sit useful as an insecticide, then genetically modified again later ( by Monsanto) to be resistant to Roundup. Then it’s also hydrogenated. It’s estimated 90% of the canola oil found on grocery shelves is genetically modified.

So why is it called Canola, if there is no such thing as a Canola plant? It was originally made in Canada, (can) and the word for oil is ola...canola. It’s a word they made up.

Virtually everything about the modern food industry is corrupt as hell, none of the food corporations are the least bit interested in healthy food, despite their advertising. Their only interest is money. And they don’t care if they kill you to get it. More customers are born every minute.

Same for drug companies. Remember Vioxx? Merck sold Vioxx for several years after they knew it was killing people. It was only removed from the market when they were forced to do so. The FDA and AMA did nothing to stop them. And both knew about it too. Right now I’m seeing commercials for Xarelto. I started seeing ads trying to get people to call the bad drug 800 number months ago because Xarelto is causing excessive bleeding, brain hemorrhage and even death. They’re still selling it.

Follow the money.

That’s what all this is about. Money. Nobody at Merck spent a night in jail, no charges were ever filed, and over 10,000 people died. That’s mass murder.

Find and watch the documentary “Supersize Me” if you can find it. Get the book “Fast Food Nation” and read it. You’ll never look at a hamburger the same...

Advertising is the use of the oldest form of brainwashing. Repeat until the subject believes it. That’s all advertising is, and the way I see it, if a company has the millions required to produce a TV ad, they don’t need my $2.95.

Dairy fat is not the real problem, hydrogenated oil is. Your body does not know how to process it so it turns into that fat layer you have trouble reducing, because you’re still adding more hydrogenated oil to it. And getting no exercise. Even carbohydrates are less problem than hydrogenated oil.

One of the biggest problems is the MSG food companies are adding so you will become addicted to their food.

Do some research. It’s out there...

Yeah I can be long winded...

That’s true but my point was you need fat in your diet. You may not be getting it from (skim) milk but you’ll still need some from “somewhere” (at this point in our lives we almost only use milk for cooking and in our coffee). ;- )

"That’s true but my point was you need fat in your diet."

No doubt. And for most meat eaters who also eat their share of cheese, butter and other dairy products, enough fat shouldn't be a problem. Eat plenty of fish to get the good fish oil fats.

See, that pyramid is wrong as they don’t grow BBQs in Texas. They have smoked beef.

BBQs are animals, not, a way of cooking meat.

They are pink, porcine looking creatures that walk about on two legs with a top hat, a walking stick and sometimes a Tux.

While smiling a lot, they can be rather fierce, specially if they have been eating lots of peppers, vinegar, mustard, or other hot spices.

If you should fear confrontation from a BBQ, one should have a fork and plate ready, with a loaf of bread, Brunswick Stew or rice hash, and a large Sweetened Iced Tea. Armed thus, the BBQ will vanish pretty quick.

You might want to check your facts....

No need.

All of those food you mention have more available nutrition when cooked then raw. When they are raw many of the nutrients are locked up inside the fiber and pass through the body without being absorbed.

When the fibers have been softened by cooking the nutrients trapped are available for the body to absorb.

So while the heat of cooking destroys some of the nutrients it frees up more.

The most dramatic example would be a mostly stripped joint.

You could gain a little nutrition by gnawing on it, more by splitting the bone open and scooping out the marrow, still more by roasting the bone and then scooping out the marrow but you would gain the most nutrition by roasting the joint, splitting it then putting it in water and boiling it for about three days.

This would give you a nutrient rich bone broth.

Not really.

They are measuring the amount of nutrition in the food not the amount that is absorbed by the body.

Two entirely different things.

Do you read the article?

It clearly states they measured the levels of different nutrients in the test subjects not the food...

To each is own...:)
