Northside is an interesting film. It's part film noir, part docudrama. Stewart is quite good in the part, and Cobb and Conte (long before he became Don Barzini) are typically outstanding. 7.5/10.

Also have a second recommendation for viewing tonight: The Pawnbroker (1964), starring Rod Steiger and Jaime Sanchez. It's an excellent film about a Holocaust survivor who lost everything and has become hardened to the point of becoming nearly emotionless towards his fellow man. It's actually available on youtube right now, and I had thought to post it as a second feature. I was concerned, though, that perhaps the brief nude scenes might run afoul of the FR code of conduct. 8/10.

Yes, nice movie. Who played Wiecek’s mother, scrubbing floors for years to save up money? Interesting for the photographic angle and the rights of the accused, many decades before Miranda.

It looks like the role of the mother was played by Kasia Orzazewski. She was a Polish immigrant, and her career seems to have lasted only about 6 years, though she had 11 roles in that time.

She was really good in that role. She really brought the emotional center to the movie.

Thanks for posting the ‘brief nudity’ review. It’s not a movie I’m interested in seeing.
