Apple fans fooled by Dutch humorists into thinking Android is iOS 9

Apple fanboys have often been accused of worshipping anything that comes from the brand, even though the rest of the world is saying it sucks or it’s nothing special anymore (I guess that’s why they call them fanboys). Some Dutch humor artists decided to test this out, pretending to show them the new iOS9, which is in fact just an Android OS loaded onto an iPhone, Predictably, the results were hilarious. Well, it would be funny if you were an Android fan or even user, not so much if you were one of said fanboys.

What these humor artists did is to somehow upload Android (they didn’t say which one, but we assume it’s Lollipop) onto an iPhone then go around to the Cupertino fanboys, show it to them, and then ask what they think about it. I think everyone pretty much expected the results, which they uploaded on YouTube, but it’s still funny to watch all the same, as we Android users are in on the joke.

Told that it’s the new iOS9 that will come out soon, the fanboys had nothing but nice things to say about it, saying it’s faster, smoother, the icons are nicer, the features are customizable, etc. What’s funny to Android users is that they’ve probably known this for years (or when they started being on the platform) but it’s hilarious to hear Apple fans saying it, without realizing they’re praising Android.

Some admitted that anything that comes from Apple is always better, and when asked why, one said, just because they’re “chill”. But there was apparently one Samsung fanboy, who said that while the new iOS9 is cool, he still prefers Samsung, without realizing or recognizing that he’s actually looking at his brand.

I would say, “What a bloated, clunky turd. Will I be able to stay with 8?”

I’m still trying to figure out if this is real or not. You can run Android on an iPhone?

Sure. You have to be comfortable with jailbreaking and rooting and using Android tools, so maybe don’t try this at home but here’s how:

[You have to be comfortable with jailbreaking and rooting and using Android tools...]

And as Pash says in the article, you have to be a little bored too if you really want to go through with it. :)

This YouTube is NOT CURRENT, except for the leader where they say they are going to tell people it's iOS 9, it's identical to the video they showed last year when iOS 8 came out. . . same people, same reactions, same FUD. — PING!

Ping to ThunderSleeps for his Android Ping list.

Android on Apple iPhones . . . Claiming to fake out Apple iOS users. . . but actually it's a reprise of a FUD video from last year
Ping!

The Latest Apple/Mac/iOS Pings can be found by searching Keyword “ApplePingList” on Freerepublic’s Search.

If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.

So it’s the exact same Apple fans who were used in a video from a year ago. Those dutch humorists are such rascals! :)

Did you notice that at the end it said “Sponsored Content?” It’s an astroturf advertising by paid for by Samsung. . . the same as it was last year.

I only read the article and didn’t bother with the video.

Those samsung people are doing a little guerilla marketing.

I thought it was weird that they had a samsung guy in there who was fooled, too. Now we know he was in there mainly to mention the samsung brand.

It was an entertaining article.

No, it's the exact same video. No differences. They just edited in a new leader. Even last year people investigating it found there was actually no evidence they were Apple fans. . . except the statement of the "interviewer."

It's a paid astroturf advertisement, Vision Thing. Watch at the end where it says "Sponsored Content." Samsung pays out billions in astroturfing expenses every year. In 2012, marketing was over $14 billion, while their actual advertising budget for ad copy was under $4 billion. Double fraud.

The Apple Envy is strong in these ones.

Can you imagine how lame the otherwise capable people who are paid to do this stuff must feel? They could be doing something useful with their talents and imaginations, something that improves products, advances technology, brings new ideas to designs... but instead all they can do is product crap marketing fluff.

And not even very good fluff. Basically full of falsehoods, misrepresentations, and pointless juvenile guffaws.

Oh well, everybody's gotta have a hobby, I guess...

I can hardly wait until the Windows 10 phones start appearing. Somebody's gotta do a hack on Cortana. She's such a hottie... :-)

Are they trying to make Cortana the Jessica Rabbit of personal assistants? :)
