I’d consider one if I did a lot of city driving. But its probably not worth it at this time, what with the price of gas cratering.
Remember they have been making them since 1997.
Each year the cost is less.
And my wife’s other choice was a Subaru!
See how well I made out!
The car or the driver?
I've had jungle rot on most of my body, can't be that bad?
Doesn't sound good got the pri.
But it would be fun to race the two technologies. However, don't know if you could get the juice out of the battery fast enough to even compete. Maybe some other electric power source like fuel cells.
As you can probably figure, I am a techie guy. Although I do love the smell of gasoline and oil and smoke. I own a 29 Ford and part of the character is to smell the gas and exhaust fumes as you are speeding down the highway at a top speed of 55mph.
The Corolla is so good that the upscale version Acura ILX is a worthy choice for a financially savvy mom/new grandma when she decides to go to a smaller car without giving up some luxury.
Looking for value right now. We have a kid in college and we are hoping that his car will last beyond graduation and then some. But we will check it out.
Thanks!
That is very low! I still have my motorcycles, but I did sell the racing bikes; the bones do not heal like they used to.
As you go to medicare and beyond, you too shall see.
She was homecoming queen and a Lincoln scholar at UofI.
Does that clear anything up?
I understand the “techie” interest. But electrics just don’t really thrill me as much as the technical skill needed to tweak and modify an internal combustion engine. There is a great deal of math and science involved between understanding the fluid dynamics involved with intake, fuel vapourisation, maximizing the fuel-air mixture, and a host of other nuances. Electrics have been around since about the 1890s, and I find that many of the concerns that people have about them today are about the same as the concerns that people had back then. If people like current hybrids, so be it. Just don’t try to force me to drive one or try to convince me that a Prius is just as cool as a ‘32 Ford rat rod. I am not totally against hybrids, per se. I think that the shared driveline and battery back of cars like the Prius are adding complications that do not need to exist. The proposed new NSX does a good job of blending both worlds - a twin turbo V-6 driving a generator that provides electrical power that is sent directly to three electric motors (no battery pack).
LOL!
One of my work mates was in front of me in traffic and attempted that with his mighty Dodge.
I think the Pri is able to run on the free hydrocarbons!
LOLOL!
Please tells about your ride, post some pic's of you in it.
Rumor has it , you drive a pontiac aztek?
Being the husband, myself I have a BMW airhead and couple of Hondas of late.
No more need for the heavy iron.
Have been wondering about the fuel thing. Our son has a VW TDI he drives many miles so it makes more sense. For years now, I have been reading about diesel hybrids, it's always next year?
We figured it was an RV's towbehind, but no - a gray haired lady came out of the restroom, hopped in and headed east. We caught up with her a few miles down the road as a semi was passing her in the left lane -- her little ride got a definite case of the wobbles during that maneuver.
I to am not concerned about the emmisions.
The milage is just one of many savings on a Pri; No belts and most of the braking is done with regen...
I do enjoy the car and its fun too!
Had zucchini pie the other night, very good!
