Never miss a chance to malign the pre-trib perspective, eh? I prep for those like you who will be swallowing the lie about what happened to all those Christians who suddenly disappeared.

If you know your antibiotic meds, you can order the exact same meds from FishMox. Even Cipro ...

I recently read somewhere that dirty water is the number one killer in the world.

“All preppers will die also. Focus more on the life to come than this transient existence.”

All will die sometime, but not being prepared as a prepper will get you killed real soon. If you don’t care when you die, then do nothing to prepare.

I don’t have to focus “more” on the life to come as that is taken care of. Your “Focus more on the life to come than this transient existence” sounds like a terrorist talking to those he puts bombs on so they blow themselves up in the market place. I prefer to have life insurance by prepping so I and my family can live.

Medications are huge. And the insurance/drug companies don’t let you stock up for emergencies. End of month, you’re down to 0 to 4 days supply.

Is that ‘sangria’, as in wine by the pitcher (or at least that’s the way I like to have it, and cold)?

How many white people are you expecting to kill?

I am seriously thinking about getting a new generator that does not cost an arm and a leg and have it connected to the house. I am not sure if I should get a gasoline, diesel or propane one yet. I wonder if any Freepers have any opinions on this.

I don't have a specific recommendation for a generator. However, some things to consider about fuel choice...

Gasoline is perishable. You can extend the shelf life with a conditioner to about a year. Propane does not degrade and is easier to store large amounts and use for other purposes (cooking and heating). Another freeper posted some time ago about filtering used motor oil and using that to run a diesel generator. I don't know about the shelf life storing diesel.

I don't expect to kill any...because I don't expect a breakdown of society. Or at least nothing like what the worst case scenario types on this forum are predicting.

To think that once things start to break down everybody will be on their own is quite pessimistic. Most people outside the big cities are not savages. I get the feeling a number of people on this forum are hoping for a big breakdown...the better to shoot people.

"No, you die when God calls you home."

You are correct, but until he does:

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3

In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. Proverbs 21:20

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

"Best I can hope for is to sell my life dearly if called upon to do it.

My goal is to see that there are more of us than 'them' alive armed and health with their families taken care of so we can do what needs to be done. You won't answer this I am sure, but I ask it; How can you save the Republic if you haven't made preps to save your own family?

Good info, thank you. I do use propane for my house. I will have to check to see if I can use the same tank. I never expected to be blocked from leaving my area to get gasoline and water, that I could not return.

“A single pack of Pop Tarts has 420 calories”

After one of the major hurricanes Walmart did an internal study about what the biggest selling item was 72 hours afterwards. Any guesses as to what it was?

Wait for it...

Wait for it....

Strawberry Pop Tarts.

Due diligence is always a good idea.

Most antibiotics will last a decade or so, with the possible exception of tetracycline, when properly stored. Aspirin is indeed an exception. However ibuprofen, acetomenophine, and naproxen are not.

Amoxicillin, ampicillin, penicillin, and erythromycin are well documented as well. Others like Cipro are suitable for long term storage. Don’t forget sulfa variants if you can lay your hands on them.

If you budget for it you can lay in a surprising amount of meds that will deal with 90% of situations one can reasonably plan for IMO. Beyond that things are up to the Almighty. Right?

But the Lord helps those who help themselves.

Best,

L

I must repeat this. Several things happened during this fire that was very traumatic for me, but one BIG one was,
I could not return to my home if I left. So, my advice is,
don’t count on leaving to get supplies when shtf because you may not be able to return to your home.
