Carly Fiorina’s Post-Debate Abortion Ad is Intense—and Effective

Posted by Amy Miller Wednesday, September 23, 2015 Considering she very nearly didn’t make the cut for CNN’s GOP throwdown, I think we can all afford to throw her props. Love her, hate her, or have questions about her, registered voters have spoken—they want to see more. It’s not surprising; many pundits predicted that all Carly needed to raise her profile within the crowded Republican field was a chance to steal the spotlight.

She did it. Her star is rising, and she’s using the opportunity not only to hit back at her most vocal opponents, but to bolster her conservative bona fides before a divided voter pool. It’s a continuation of the strategy she used earlier this summer—when her polling numbers sat below 5%—but it’s still effective. This time around, Fiorina is rebooting the conversation on abortion with a new Carly for America PAC ad that lashes out against Democrats who refused to acknowledge the existence of the Planned Parenthood sting videos after she referenced them in the CNN debate.

It’s an intense ad, and be warned—it contains graphic images from the now-infamous sting videos.

I don’t care how good Fiorina supposedly was in the last debate. She’s a failed business executive and no more qualified to run for President than Ms. Anybody off the street. The Republican party looks silly even promoting her. It’s destroying our credibility and the Dems are laughing at us.

We’ve been killing innocent children for our convenience since at least 1972. Why does Carly have to shed light on this *now.* Good grief.

Just a wild guess, but could it have anything to do with the fact that, as of several weeks ago, we finally got access to video evidence of the filthy, evil deeds of Planned Parenthood?

Why is it upsetting to you that she's shedding light on it *now*?

Exactly—it’s the one “conservative” issue they’ve given her to attack the rubes.

What really disturbed me about Carly in the debate was her trying to grab sympathy for having “buried a child to drug addiction.”

This is a gross deception. The “child” was Lori Fiorino, her step-daughter. The girl lived full-time with her mother after her parents divorce when she was ten. I’m sure Carly did forge a relationship with her step-daughter, but she did NOT raise the girl.

Second, the step-daughter died when she was 34 or 35 from alcohol and prescription drug abuse. Of course, it was a tragedy, but that was not the impression Carly was creating.

Carly’s claim that she “buried a child to drug addiction” creates the false impression that her own child died from illegal drugs in high school or college. This was a blatant attempt at manipulation with misleading statements. I cannot respect her for taking us for fools.

A more accurate claim would be “I buried my stepchild, my husband Frank’s daughter, to drug addiction, when she was in her thirties.”

But that would not have had the effect she wanted. She really showed a lack of respect for both Lori and her bio-mother.

It amazes me how so many Freepers can fail to give credit where it is due.

Because Carly is now seen as a threat to the Donald, his supporters wouldn't give her credit if she cured cancer while single-handedly pushing through the repeal of Obamacare, gay marriage and welfare.

Because some of us in California remember the real Carly running against conservative Chuck Devore.

she was also pro-abortion

So you are opposed to Trump because he was also pro-abortion at one time, right?

This is a gross deception. The “child” was Lori Fiorino, her step-daughter.

I will take a wild guess that you don't have step-children, don't have adult children, and have never had to deal with the death of a child. If you love your step-kids, they stop becoming "step" kids and are just your kids. And you don't care any less about what happens to them just because they are adults. And losing a child at any age is one of the hardest things a parent ever goes through.

I'm going to be charitable and assume you are just ignorant. Otherwise the other assumption is that you are heartless as well as ignorant...

Good for her calling attention to the issue and the hideous videos.

Bet the leftist CNN people freaked out when Carly brought up the Planned Parenthood videos in such a graphic way at the debate.

Carly Fiorina and Bob Dole. That is a comparison, only understood by orange county republicans. So, please proffer your so-cal wisdom. Thanks.

She isn't going to do anything about abortion!

Just more nonsense to draw off the evangelicals so the Establishment guy can sneak in.

Especially when so many of the same cheer the absolutely unbelievable Trump because he's "bringing attention to" to the immigration crisis.

So then Trump doesn't get any credit for his position on abortion, because he hasn't earned it either, right? I mean he has done even less than Fiorina on that subject. At least Carly is making the PP videos a campaign issue and getting people to think about it. Trump claims to now be pro-life, and he may be, but it certainly is not something that he spends any time fighting for.

No. But I would support a Cruz-Fiorina ticket if that will help us win. 8 years of Obama has caused irreparable and destructive damage. Elections are won by a few percentage points. Bush won Florida by 500 votes. Therefore if Fiorina can stem the draining away of women voters, I’m all for it.
