I've read that the BRM PD engine is prone to premature camshaft failure, but so far I've had no issues with the engine. They say (for what it's worth) to stick with a synthetic 5w-40 and not use 5w-30.

I've been using Mobil One Turbo Diesel Truck or Shell Rotella for around the last 100k miles.

I know. I was talking about them. The older I get the more I despise tree-huggers. Just can’t help it.

I had a 1970 with an 1835cc 4 cylinder with dual Dellortos. Canary yellow with polished aluminum Fuchs wheels. Wish I still had it, amazing the number of times I got positive comments on that car. Karmann got the styling right on that car.

I bought it for $3K, about the same amount invested in fixing it up, then got laid off and had to sell it. Only got $3K for it. Sold it to a dad who bought it for his little girl as her first car. Such is life.

Yes, the Karmann guys built a pretty little car. Nice balance between the Beetle origins and its Porsche siblings. I always liked that Type 3 Squareback (wagon), too. That model sort of forecast the 3-door hatchback craze that was a decade in the future.

My dad had a type 3 sedan/notch-back. Gotta love the simplicity of those old air cooled VWs.

I like the Karman Ghia Type 34 coupe. Kinda looks like a cross between a Karman Ghia and a Chevy Corvair. Very intersting looking front end, sort of Art Deco. Pics are easy to find on your favorite search engine.

Who will be next? I guarantee some other car company’s are sweating profusely right now.

Tuners are copying the Eprom’s in these Volkswagen’s as we speak, for obvious future profit.

Sources like Autoblog and The Truth About Cars (TTAC) have already reported that at least some BMWs and Mercedes have employed the same kind of test tuning.

TOLD YOU SO. LOL

Not sure it would work in one of the Communist controlled States. They actually have mobile “sniffers” set up on some Freeways.

You drive by, the sniffer senses too many pollutants in the Exhaust of your Car and you are sent a notice to have your Vehicle Smog Checked OR ELSE! They put them on the Entry Ramps when you are accelerating to merge into Traffic.

Doe anyone here recall when we lived in a FREE Country?

While you are having fun in your truck, I hope you think about all the yellow speckled salamanders that you are murdering. You monster!

They taste great lightly sautéed in butter and fava beans on the side.
