Revelation 13: 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein * to worship the first beast, whose * deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak , and cause that as many as would * not worship the image of the beast should be killed *. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great *, rich and poor *, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand *, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell , save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Calling Christ’s crucifixion and rising a failure is indeed blasphemy.

People shouldn’t need a catholic decoder ring to figure out what the pope says or meant to say. When the pope speaks, he not only speaks to catholics but non catholics as well.

I’ve heard some apologists for Islam talk about how Jesus is considered a prophet of some sort in Islam, and how Islam honors Jesus, etc. etc.

But then these apologists have no answer as to why non-Muslims in Muslim countries are treated as 2nd and 3rd class citizens, and are subject to such discrimination. On the one hand, they try to tell us how Islam respects Christianity and Judaism, on the other hand have no explanation as to why infidels are so discriminated against in Muslim societies.

To him who has ears to hear...the rest will go on oohing and aching, as if this false prophet is some kind of oracle...

the failure of the cross.

Ok, if there is a to be on this forum that thinks this Pope is a Christian, I'd like to hear how you can justify that statement.

To call the cross a failure is to Call Jesus Christ a failure.

This is blasphemy no matter how you slice it.

I am not Catholic but I have thought the same as you. POPE’S message is America must do it all, yet we are only 5% of the world. People are hurting now under Obama rule and yet we are to do more.Axelrod said Obama would make New World Order easier to obtain.
Beware of false prophets.

FWIW from Wikipedia:

“The Quran states that Jesus was born a ‘pure boy’ and untouched by sin to Mary (Arabic: Maryam) as the result of virginal conception, a miraculous event which occurred by the decree of God the Creator (Arabic: Allah) which follows the belief of the prophetic message in the Old Testament passage Isaiah 7:14 and referenced in the New Testament passages Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-38.”

That is the central theme of Christianity.

Christ died for our sins so we could live an eternal life.

Adam and Eve chose a new ruler of this world in the Garden.

Jesus Christ purchased it back with His life.

Praise God, and I mean that sincerely.

This pope seems to be off his game.

I wonder if he has some medical problems.

It seems like a good idea to replace him, if he is willing.

The apostle Paul called it a shame, humanly speaking. Only with the Resurrection and miraculous founding of the church was it shown to be a victory. The pope has said enough regarding politics to call him into question. This completely valid statement of his is not a point to chase.

He said that? Christ’s death was a failure only to the world. To God and his people it was the greatest success ever. I am really starting to dislike this pope. The college of cardinals really screwed up this time.

Can someone who is Catholic couch this statement in any sort of Catholic doctrine? Because to me, and I’m not Catholic, it’s diametrically opposed to victory over death and sin explicitly taught in the Bible in no uncertain terms. Misquote? Bad translation again? Francis seems entirely too preoccupied with the political, but I did not doubt his Christianity. But, if he actual said this and actually believes this, then I do.

Could the Pope have meant the crucifixion was a failure because Jesus arose from the dead?

I never remember Pope John Paul never needing ‘translation’. This guy gives me the creeps.
