U.S. migration patterns changed plenty from 1850 to 2013. A nifty interactive map, created by the Pew Research Center, visualizes these shifts by showing the origin of the dominant immigrant group in each state for every decade during this time period.

That’s a shocker.
The Chinese have been pouring into Massachusetts for quite a few years.
I have no idea why they chose Mass, but they are good neighbors.
.
Maybe it’s because of the Chinatown in Boston and the transportation between Boston and NYC. Although I think the Fung Wah was finally cancelled because of all their accidents.
” They’re going back. They are all going back. Some of the good ones can come back in, later. But, they’re all going back. We are either a country, or we’re not. “ — Donald Trump
I do medical transcription from home and one of the hospitals I transcribe for is in Boston. I do mainly ENT reports, clinic and operative reports and the majority of the patient’s are Asians because Asians have a higher rate of developing head and neck cancers than other populations. There is a community health center in the area that has all Asian doctors that speak Chinese and many of the patient’s get referred from there to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
ditto
Meant to say “patients” not “patient’s”
“because Asians have a higher rate of developing head and neck cancers than other populations.”

I did not know that-my DIL is Asian and the 2 kids 1/2 Asian.
One more thing to put in God’s hands.

From the look of those maps, Montana’s soon going to have the change their motto from “The Last Best Place”, to “The Last Best Place, eh!”. Each map from 1900 on, shows Canada as being the home of the most number of immigrants to Montana.
Didn’t Frank Zappa sing many years ago of moving to Montana to raise ‘a crop of dental floss’?
So much for “diversity.”
Do you know Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc are Asian countries? By “Asian” do you really mean “oriental”?
I figured that out right away. They want you to think oriental eastern Asians.
I was just joshing. For some reason the “eastern Asian Orientals” do not like being called “Orientals”. They prefer “Asian”. But as you already know, that is not a complete definition of people.
For $500,000 invested in America one can obtain a green card. The only ones with that kind of cash are the Chinese. They are buying up lots of properties in the Seattle area. And by cash - I mean cash. My real-estate agent said it happened a couple of times where they brought suitcases full at the closing! (Now she makes sure to tell them to use a cashier’s check).
If I could only get the map to stop to look closely at it.
My wife’s ancestors were from near Shanghai. She prefers “oriental” to “Asian.” I heard her asking her sister once, “When did we become Asian?”
She became Asian when our state department said they can refugee jihsdis and instead call them Asian
My hat’s off to your wife. She has pride and confidence in herself. You are a lucky man.
Where did you find that information? I am aware some countries will give you residency if you buy property, but was not aware US has such law on books.
