Don’t get your hair caught in the zipline.
But, whee, what a ride! I love ‘em. Bones and cuts heal, usually. I think it is worth the risk.
I don’t even want to imagine the pain from that. Ouch.
Waiting for the Obama Zip Line Control Speech.
The one in Vegas at the Fremont Street Experience looks like a long yet safe one. I think it goes for about a quarter mile. That should be a satisfyingly lengthy ride. And no tree branches and other obstacles, too.
Whatever
Live a little
I put a 3 inch gash in my leg, on a zip line, in Mexico and lived to tell about it...
Wouldn’t be too surprising given there’s actually a government department that tracks these injuries. They have a “national injury database operated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission”.
did you even feel it when it happened? It seems the ride would be so overwhelming and distracting that you’d notice the injury only after the ride was done.
Look, we have a zip line near us at Mount Sunapee, nh. What a hoot. I don’t remember anyone being really hurt. But the same things happen if you go skiing , hiking or play a sport of some kind. Once you’re harnessed in, hold on for a great ride.
Idiots. Always trying to take the fun out of life.
Last Fall my wife and I took the canopy tour in Hocking Hills Ohio.
A blast!,
We ain’t no spring chickens but it was easy and great fun.

Another thing we tried, really fun, a Segway tour of Columbus.
Wish I could find an excuse to buy one.
Safety tips? The AP does love its Nanny State.
I worked with a guy whose wife forbid him motorcycles and firearms yet gave him a zipline ticket for his birthday.
Go figure...
BKMK
I run a Trail Life USA troop. We met up with a bunch of other troops at hocking Hills two summers ago. Some of our boys did the zip line while others went canoeing.
Coincidentally, the canoe’s got to the zip line area just as our zip line guys got there. We’ve got the photo’s to prove it.
Both groups had a blast. Hocking Hills is a neat area.
Look for more government regulations.
Good grief! I am an old woman, and I had my second zip line experience in August. I have a SIL in her 70s and a sister in her 60s who have gone zip-lining in Costa Rica. Oh, and I refuse to wear a helmet while I am on a bicycle.
I much prefer modern roller coasters like Top Thrill Dragster...120+MPH launch, 420 feet vertical...but that’s just me.

These are super popular right now and made by different companies. I’ve seen them as low as $300 something on Amazon. I was just at our fair and one of the vendors had top of the line models for $499. I’ve been thinking of buying one for the grandson is why I’ve been watching them.
I just saw them for sale at the mall. A big GI was trying to stand on one. Only way he could was to hold hands with the salesgirl.
Come to think of it maybe he was faking it to hold her hands. :^)
There’s a commercial on TV, think it’s for Claritin.
In the background is someone on a zipline going over a wide, deep canyon.
Obviously out West somewhere.
Would love to try that one.
