What is my favorite version of "Faded Love" and who does it best?
The Man from Nowhere

Posted on 10/17/2015 4:42:14 PM PDT by West Texas Chuck

I am gradually hunting them all down, right now I own I think 26 versions of this tune.

Don't know for sure why it means so much to me, but I can listen to this song a thousand times and not get tired.

The Quebe Sisters from Austin do a very fine job with it, with THREE fiddles. If you like Texas swing check them out.

Me bad, I’ve been humming “ Tainted Love” for the past hour. Oops

I don’t mind admitting to my 60 years. Bob Wills is tied very strongly to this part of Oklahoma, having done a radio show based here for years, playing Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa more times than can be counted, and playing multiple little dance halls across the country side where stories are still told about the crowds when he came to town. So it’s not hard to sing along: “Bob Wills is still the King!”

No contest, Patsy Cline.

Totally agree. The way she sings does something to me that I can"t explain.

Didn't Linda Ronstadt cover this song, about 1970 / 1972 (ish)??

Her version is simple, plaintive, and she certainly had the pipes to do it justice, back in this time frame.

Saw Ray Price at Gruene Hall just a few months before his death. He was physically feeble but his voice was as mellow as ever.
