Who ever took the leg is now one leg up on the rest of us.(I confess that I did not check to see if someone beat me.)
They could use the arteries and veins for vascular repairs and the ligaments and tendons (ACL, PCL, MCL, achilles tendon, etc). There are various uses for bone, bone marrow, and skin. It would all require processing, so delivery of a leg is not a time critical issue as it would be for a heart or liver.
Yes, limbs are being transplanted.
