Back in March, as the field of Charlotte’s mayoral candidates continued to grow, a lot of people considered Democrat Jennifer Roberts a long shot.
It wasn’t the first time that Charlotte’s new mayor-elect had been underestimated.

Um, in no way was she a long shot...period.
All of the Republican voters have left Charlotte city for Union, Caberras, etc. The only stripe of Republicans are up Providence Ave. and around South Park. Indian Land, SC and Union county are especially taking in all the affluent voters that used to live in Charlotte.
Those of us in the Charlotte area have to look at this hideous old communist bag weekly on the evening news. Its a sad time...
USED to be nice. I live 30 miles south in dairy cow country and I stay as far away from that hellhole as I can.

Same thing here in my little hamlet in NE Florida: million dollar homes that supported Obama. They came here with their millions from NY and Ca and now want to become what they left.
Seriously, I was at a party recently when someone heard I had lived in Ca and approached me starting a conversation with: I heard you are from the Bay Area, don’t you find the level of intelligence here somewhat low? I asked, why did you move here if you feel that way. Answer, taxes and “foreigners” were over running the place and this was different. So, I guess the retort should have been so why do you want to change it but I just smiled and moved on.
Yeah, everyone is a knuckle dragging hick. Charlotte schools are a mess so parents send there kids to Charlotte Latin, Charlitte day for over 20k a year.
