Some states ban smiling in driver's license photos, but wearing a colander on one's head is apparently allowed.
A Massachusetts woman this week won the right to wear a colander on her head in her driver's license photo after citing religious reasons. Lindsay Miller identifies as a "Pastafarian" and member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which some critics call a parody religion.

After reading this, I feel drained and limp.
I think The Onion should totally drop the satire and just run serious news stories. If they didn't announce the change, it might be years before someone noticed.
Used to be a dude in Riverside, CA...that walked around town in a dress..and a cooking pot on his head.
Not to mention that the aluminum ones have amateur radio applications. More than that, I’m not sayin...
Interesting...I have never actually heard of someone that worships the “spaghetti monster”. How can she prove it? Swear allegiance to Obama?
Lesbian?
Holy Guacamole!
“Oh please Lord, get me out of this state. Soon”
State? I want off the planet! Maranatha!
They are from the "who am I to judge?" crowd that gave us parents who let 6 year olds "choose" their gender.
Yet another in a long line of attempts to discrete Christianity through the use of idiotic and not-very-clever parody. Hatred of Christianity is everywhere in this dark and fallen world. Notice that Islam is accepted by the Left. It’s because the Left fears an Islamic cutting off their head, but since most Christians are pacifists, the Devil gets a free pass.
You HAVE to see this! Picture at link.
No. It is a totalitarian political system that uses religion as a beard and as a means of social control.

Islam is a tyrannical and violent form of governing and has nothing do do with a “god” or religion.
Apparently, a tinfoil hat was inadequate for a perceived threat.
She needed a heavier gauge. Watch out when she wears a helmet.
No idea. I’m a conservative who supports religious freedom and who believes the government has no business deciding what is a legitimate expression of religious faith. If one can have their license photo taken wearing a turban, a yarmulke, a hijab or whatever other sort of headgear claiming their religious faith requires it, I don’t see why she shouldn’t be able to wear a colander claiming it is a tenant of her faith. I’m sure she’s doing it to make a point, and I support her. Either that or the gov’t agency stipulates no headgear of any sort and applies it equally to everyone, regardless of what they claim their religious faith requires.
Say it ain’t so about The Onion!
I don’t usually side with anything atheistic, but if Pastafarians want to wear their “religious” headgear for their I.D. photo, OK with me.
Unlike the muzzie headbag, a collander doesn’t hide facial features.
