Fox News Sunday tried to ask Ben Carson some policy questions about the terrorist attack in Paris, and the result was a dose of insanity that include a lectured on brain sizes, and Carson's support for a shooting war with Russia.
Carson was asked four times by host Chris Wallace what his response to the Paris attacks would be if he were president, and he couldn't answer, but the real crazy was yet to come.
In response to the question about whether the US should accept refugees from Syria, Carson went on a rant about the human brain:
WALLACE: The Obama administration has said before that it would accept up to 10,000 Syrian refugees as part of the humanitarian crisis. We now learn that one of these attackers had a Syrian passport that indicated he had been part of the refugee flood into Europe in October. Would you continue that policy?
CARSON: Well, you know, as I've said all along, you know, bringing people into this country from that area of the world I think is a huge mistake. Because why wouldn't they infiltrate them with people who are ideologically opposed to us? It would be foolish for them not to do that. So, we need to be very compassionate to understand that these people have been displaced and we should use our expertise and resources to help get them resettle over there, and to support them over there, but to bring them here under these circumstances is a suspension of intellect.
You know, the reason that the human brain has these big frontal lobes as opposed to other animals, because we can engage in rational thought processing, we can, you know, extract information from the past, the present, process it and project it into a plan. Animals, on the other hand, have big brain stems and rudimentary things, because they react. We don't have to just react, we can think.
Carson took crazy to another level when he suggested getting into a shooting war with Russia in Syria:
WALLACE: Dr. Carson what happens if the Russians respond to that by shooting down one of our planes?
CARSON: I would do that in conjunction with the Turkish forces along the Syrian/Turkish border where a huge number of those refugees located. It's a humanitarian thing to try to provide them a safe haven for now.
WALLACE: But sir, if I may press my-
CARSON: And I would make sure that the Russians understood that we are going to do that.
WALLACE: If I may press my point, what do you do if – after we shoot down a Russian plane, they shoot down one of ours?
CARSON: If they violate it, we will, in fact, enforce it. And, you know, we'll see what happened. You know, too, for us to always be backing down because we are afraid of a conflict, that's not how we became a great nation, Chris.
WALLACE: But you're talking about getting potentially into a shooting war with Russia over Syria?
CARSON: Well, if we established a no fly zone and we make clear the rules, if they violate it, that's why you have a no-fly zone. That's the very definition of a no fly zone. You can't fly there.
Ben Carson was asked policy question about the kind of unexpected crisis that all presidents must deal with, and he showed that he is completely unfit for office.
Rambling about the size of the human brain is not answer to a question about continuing the policy of accepting Syrian refugees. The idea that the United States could get into a shooting war with Russia to protect a no fly zone in Syria was flat out insane.
Over the weekend, top Republicans privately admitted that they viewed both Carson and Trump as unfit to be Commander In Chief. Republicans are terrified that Trump or Carson will win their party's nomination and lead the party to a crushing defeat. After Carson's appearance on Fox News, he appears to be even less sane than Trump.
Ben Carson's success as a presidential candidate demonstrates just how crazy Republican voters have become.

The reason why our Russian relations have gone badly is because Putin knows Obama means nothing he says. How do you feel about Russian bombers in our air defense zones? Russians reclaiming eastern Europe?
I am glad Putin is going after ISIS, but only a fool believes here is anything but Putin’s interests at play in that action. We will ultimately regret Hussein ceding half the world to whoever steps in.
But Sir,But Sir,Let me ask another stupid question.Carson is right,we are smart enough to know not to bring them over because of history and they don’t like us.Also that’s a great point.They don’t like us.

I agree, Carson said nothing crazy or loony. He was rational. Not bad answers at all. Good explanation of brains, obviously the left’s brain resembles that of an animal not a conservatives.
Dr. Carson has an intellect far more advanced than most of the people participating in this thread and yet here they are making pronouncements as to who is not “POTUS material” when the oath of office won’t be taken again for another 14 months! It’s astounding that you have people assuming the worst when they have not the intellectual capacity to follow what somebody like Carson means when he speaks or writes for that matter. There is no time for sock puppets, filmstrips or animated video tutorials, so stop imagining that you know anything for sure.
Carson supports amnesty, gun control, TPP and statehood for Puerto Rico. I know all I need to know.
Most of the people on this forum are supporting a candidate whose intellect exceeds Carson’s, so, no, we are not dazzled when he makes his little forays into irrelevance because he has no depth on the subject he was asked about.
I fully realize that Putin is acting only in his own interest. Obama has already ceded world leadership to Putin. Carson was talking about shooting down Russian planes in airspace they have been given permission to fly by Syria.
Carson is trying to act tough by foolishly suggesting we shoot down Russian planes in airspace Syria has given them permission to fly in.
This is the same guy who did not believe we should have had any military response to 9/11.
Carson is totally out of his depth when it comes to national security and foreign policy. He has enough problems already by supporting amnesty, gun control and TPP.
I know from experience that a candidate’s positions can and do change as the direct result of current events having shaped them and as of right now, there are an awful lot of events that we will eventually come to know as being current between now and Election Day, 2016.
He generally does do quite well... the term “Nutter” is a word that is largely used to demean Christians. So any time you see that word being used to describe someone, you can pretty well guess that person is a Christian. This piece is more about bigotry toward Christianity than it is about the competence of a person to run for POTUS.
I keep getting a feeling that someone wants us in conflict with Russia.
Does it change Carson’s words? Doe sit change Carson’s dangerous positions? Does it make him a Conservative? His policies say he is more of a Democrat or GOPe.
I don’t support amnesty, gun control, or TPP, but if you do, I understand why Carson is your guy.
Syria has given Russia permission to fly in their airspace. If we shoot down Russian planes, we are not being dragged into a shooting war with Russia, we are needlessly starting a war with them.
If this gets people disinterested in, what is basically, “our” proposed counter to the CURRENT unqualified, inexperienced know-nothing who is also black (which is what really got him elected), well, that works for me. I’m done defending the defensible just because it’s defensible.
The man is, I’m sure, a great Christian man but he’s not president material flat out. It would be a disaster if he were elected. So whatever tanks him now is fine with me. I. Don’t. Care.

I am suspicious of the motivations behind those calling for a “no fly zone”. What right do we have to engage or shoot down Russian planes when Syria has given them permission to fly in their air space?
