Nope. It can be grilled, smoked, etc. But barbecue is pork. Port is barbecue. God made it that way.

Man!!!! You donât drink beer with BBQ...You drink sweet tea!!!!!Sgt. Mr. niteowl77 Jr. married a Southern gal, and he's been converted to sweet tea. I, on the other hand, am too set in my ways and have too much German on both sides to resist beer with about any meal (which has scandalized the misses on occasion). A pilsner in the Summer, a stout in the Winter, and whatever I can scare up in Spring and Fall (as long as none of it is from an InBev company).
Actually, I will eat the Eastern NC and the GA barbecues even though that's not MY idea of BBQ... but when a bunch of pencil-necked, politically correct functionaries from an insurance company, HMO or FedGov recommend something "for my own good," it makes me want to eat something else on principle.
