Yes, I bought an electric car

The wife and I Purchased an electric car about a month ago.

I'm as far as a tree hugger as you can get but we needed a vehicle.

Our son will be starting collage soon so a another vehicle was needed.

Her total commute is close to 6 miles, the car had 2,560 miles when we bought it.

it's a 2012, fairly well equipped with air, power windows, mirrors, power locks, heated seats, etc.

Since the range is only an estimated 62 miles it works for us.

My Car is not restricted on distance since it's petroleum powered so it should work out nicely.

7,750$ for a car that listed @ 23,850 in 2012 looked pretty good.

I had net ever heard about this car it's known as a i miev.

It’s 33 dead exact miles to the office via interstate and country highway.

CFL’s? :-) I have a garage shelf full of light bulbs to last me the next 5 years. I am a musician and I am fussy about noise caused by fluorescents. But I hear ya on changing them and don’t blame you. I generally don’t buy into a lot of this so-called green technology some of which can be more harmful for the environment than the technology they replace.

It does, that’s why it was so cheap (and sat on his lot for two months).Cache pages are our friend.

What part about a 6 mile commute did you not get?

Nail on head.

I have replaced all my CFL'S with LED'S because of the efficiency, not the green aspect.

Why would I own a car that gets 8 miles to the gallon?
Because its fast!

It does. It should work out nicely for us since the commute is only 6 miles.

Even in the cold it should work out.

Make sure you re-charge it outside and away from flammable objects.

Battery-powered cars aren’t the future because of all of the problems I listed. Hydrogen fuel cell technology on the other hand has a much better chance.

Absolute....True capitalism is the truest form of democracy... it is the consumer voting with their dollars for the prefer product... its the people/consumer truly control the economy

Crony capitalism is the government fixing / rigging the vote to overridden the people / consumers will because they see the people as to stupid to buy whats good for them

If I had a long commute I would consider something smaller. Since I average well under 10K miles a year I see no reason to drive around in a beer can.

My Suburban is very comfortable.
