Ted Cruz Proposes Three-Year Ban on Refugees From Islamic State- and Al Qaeda-Controlled Countries, Refuses to Attack Trump

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz outlined Tuesday three pieces of legislation he thinks will keep Americans safe from threats by the Islamic State exploiting an influx of Syrian refugees — and dodged every opportunity to attack Donald Trump over GOP front-runner's widely derided plan to ban Muslims from entry to the U.S.
When asked about Trump’s statement Monday calling for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," the Texas senator said that he disagreed with that proposal but that he won't be an "ongoing theater critic" for every comment made by another presidential candidate.
"A lot of our friends here have encouraged me to criticize and attack Donald Trump, I’m not interested in doing so," Cruz said. "But I believe we need a plan that is focused on the direct threat, and the threat we're facing is radical Islamic terrorism."

Ted should have Trump run this program also. Then Ted could hang with Glenn,Stu and Pat.
There’s also the glaring problem of terrorists entering from nations we don’t even require a visa.
Like Belgium where the Paris attacker came from.
There’s a bill addressing this and I confidently assume Cruz is onboard.
Should have been done after 9-11.

A much better statement politically. It leaves an "out", so they can't accuse you of being unfair, but it accomplishes most of the same result.
Nope, no time limit.
And start removing the ones here now.
Oh, NOW he proposes it.
So why is Cruz even afraid of the criticism to the point where he needs an “out”?
And what stops someone from an “ISIS controlled” area from just walking to Iraq, Turkey or going to any number of nations, and just hitching a rid e to the U.S.?
Yes! And we need to do something about the mosques - that's probably where all that "radicalizing" happens.
It is an excellent suggestion per the fact that a K-1 visa “vetting” didn’t catch major red flags, and the so called refugees have even less vetting.
And it isn’t extreme as say “deport all Muslims!”
But it will still get attacked.
How would Cruz plan stop those terrorists who have now gone to EU. Sweden is a cesspool of terrorist. Total ban until we have a better handle on dealing with Muslims is the only sensible route.
Hitler lost WWII because Allies invaded Normandy on weekend when Hitler was at birthday party for one of his generals, corrections welcome. As a consequence of Hitlers front-line soldiers having to wait until Monday for Hitler to get invasion message from answering machine, Allies succeded with invasion.
On a related note, USA is possibly being invaded Trojan Horse style by radical Muslims slipping in with immigrants, arguments about constitutionally of various immigration policies probably much appreciated by radical Muslims. You would think that after 200+ years of having an amendable Constitution that USA would be a little bit more prepared to quickly make important security decisions.
If you are not stopping them from coming in from Saudi Arabia why bother?
What’s interesting is that 9/11 was carried out almost entirely by Saudis, so Cruz’s idea would not have been effective against 9/11 back in the day.
If Trump hadn't said something maybe a little bit extreme and outrageous, but necessary, the discussion going on now about letting potential terrorists into the US would never have happened.
