Free Republic Caucus 2016 Open Discussion Thread
Free Republic ^ | 20 January 2016 | Windflier

Thought I'd open up a discussion thread in case anyone wants to talk about the ongoing Caucus thread that Doughty One has created for us tonight.

Per the rules, there's no discussion allowed on the Caucus thread itself. Votes only (or your vote will be disqualified).

Let 'er rip here.

Kudos to Doughty One for creating the 2016 Caucus. It's one of the brighter ideas I've seen produced here in quite some time.

I know I will anger you folks, but
A. Cruz 2016
B. Anyone but the Donald. I’d pick K-sick over Trump.
I believe trump is a trojan horse working for the rats to do change his stripes and become Hillary light if he wins. They know Hillary has no chance and enough Republicans can be swayed with his rhetoric.

Thanks! I was going to go through and tally them up, but I'm up way past my bedtime and can hardly see straight.

Lordy, this primary has got me so hooked. And here I only thought I gave up drugs in high school! LOL

Like trying to herd cats Doughty is !! Agree with the kudos.

I'd be happy with either Trump or Cruz. As a matter of fact, when watching the last debate I was thinking that I would find a position for each one of those candidates in the new administration. Just Trump or Cruz at the top.

I believe trump is a trojan horse working for the rats to do change his stripes and become Hillary light if he wins.

If that's the case, then why is Trump the ONLY Republican candidate who's gone after Hillary in ANY significant way?

Don't tell me you already forgot how he completely foiled Hillary's strategy to get Bill out on the campaign trail for her. It was only last week that he shot her down for trying to play the 'war on women' card on him.

Hillary totally understood that Trump would start reminding Americans of Bills long history of predatory sexual behavior, and just like that - Bill disappeared from view and Hillary dropped the whole 'war on women' bullcrap.

Now tell me. Just how does that square with your theory?

I haven't checked, but she probably posted her vote before reading the rules, then went back and re-posted her vote after 12:00 midnight.

Doughty told people that only votes cast after midnight will be counted, but about 50 people voted early anyway.

I guess it'll take a day or two for everyone to get the hang of it. Or to read the frikken voter's manual .. LOL

Several people did; they posted to early and the early votes do NOT count.

Go look at it all again.

I've been checking and keeping a running tab.

Many people voted too early, some did NOT follow D1's instructions at all and those votes do NOT count !

I saw that too. I guess it will take at least a full one day cycle before everyone understands the rules.

The rats know the people dont want het. They are using Trump to take her out and be such a wacky Republican ( he has no record so who knows how he’d vote when crunch time came), that the rats will send up a freak from SF in 2020 and win.

I note that the first official vote after midnight EST was at 12:00:28 cast for Paul.......I might have figured - his people are avid for sure...

I also not that the last non-qualifying vote before midnight EST was cast for Cruz with the time of 11:59:59.

I’m joking really about the “Paul” vote. But what did disturb me greatly was that there were actually 2 votes for Jeb.....ugh....

Thank you for the discussion thread. It’s a good idea, lets folks discuss the process and keeps the thread clean.

I want folks to know I will be using Excel to create a spreadsheet with the vote. There will be sorting, and an elimination process.

Any violations will be caught. I’m not playing favorites.

You don’t need to send me a notice, and I’d rather not single folks out here who didn’t play by the rules.

I intend to send a note to each person who disqualified themselves using FReepmail. I wish I didn’t need to.

Coming up with preliminary results is okay, but I do want to urge you to only use estimates instead of hard counts. I do want to review the data before I come up with a final tally, and I don’t want folks settling on firm numbers before I review who disqualified their votes.

You may or may not catch them, so just approximates if you will.

On the forum I have advocated for Trump. I will not be voting in the Caucus. I don’t want to run it and then vote in it.

I will be as fair as I can be. It will never be my intent to suppress one Cruz vote. Please, Cruzers, read the rules and abide by them. Don’t put me in the position of having to cancel your vote.

I want this to be as fair as it can possibly be.

I am going to be providing a chart for each day’s vote, and what the trends are. For this reason I am applying the rules from day one.

I don’t want folks to be able to come back at me and say the first few days were tainted, because I didn’t apply the rules those days.

If anyone has questions, I’d be happy to answer them.

Its almost impossible to take out an incumbent unless things are going bad. Goldwater didnt lose because he was conservative, he lost because in 1964 LBJ was very popular. By 1968 LBJ was practically run out of town.

It appears the GOPee have you just where they want you.

The plan was to make both of the non establishment front runners look bad so the voters will end up choosing an establishment candidate.
