Fox News may be slightly better than the rest of The Ministry of Propaganda, but make no mistake, they are part of The Ministry Of Propaganda.

There is no reason to consider FNC conservative. Only that it is not as liberal as the standard-issue journalism. If there were a journalism which was as conservative as the alphabet media is socialist, that would be conservative. And there would be nothing wrong with that. Any more than there is anything wrong with FreeRepublic.

IMHO the reason that journalism is socialist is that journalism is criticism, and therefore journalism is not simpatico with “It is not the critic who counts.” Rather, journalists readily identify with the precise opposite sentiment, namely, “You did’t build that.&rdquuo;

Journalism traditionally claims objectivity, but that is an imposture supported by the united front journalists who work for members of the Associated Press put up. The AP newswire is a continual virtual meeting of all major journalism, and as such it produces exactly what Adam Smith predicted:

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.

The AP used to be too big to fail. Now its mission - conservation of expensive bandwidth in the dissemination of news - is obsolete. The technology explosion that has enabled the Internet trivializes the virtue of conserving communication bandwidth.

The AP - all the wire services - have lost their reason for existence. They should be sued into oblivion.
