BRABBLE [BRAB ul]
noun
Brabble is loud, acrimonious wrangling. To brabble is to engage in quarrelsome arguments, usually stubborn ones, about trifles.
We get this word from the Dutch very brabbelen (to wrangle).
In Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus (Act II, Scene 1), the Moot Aaron, beloved of the evil Tamora, Queen of the Goths, comes upon her sons Demetrius and Chiron, both smitten with Lavinia, Titus' daughter, wrangling and threatening each other. Aaron exclaims:
Away, I say!
This petty brabble will undo us all...
For shame, be friends....
And in King John (Act V, Scene 2), Dauphin, after listening to the Bastard's long plea for peace, says:
We grant thou canst outscold us. Fare thee well:
We hold our time too precious to be spent
With such a brabbler....
The brabble between Trump and Cruz supporters is music to the ears of Hillary and the GOPe.
The absence of rabble
Who constantly babble
Will help keep the place
From becoming a Brabble
What precious time we have could not be better spent than in a dervish brabble of point counter point. In the morning - tea, cakes and genuinely deserved awards.

A more pebblian application: The brambles grew up through the brabble and rubble along the sides of the hilly road.
All the brabble about who got “knocked out” in the Iowa Caucuses won’t amount to a hill of beans in a week or so!!!!
And the loudest contributors to all this brabble are merely babbling and babbling!!!!
I homeschool a house full of children; some days the brabble is so constant that I’m sure they’ll end up as politicians!
The constant brabble on Fox News has me tuning to PBS more and more. I do love those British dramas.

When I joined FR about a decade and a half ago, I used to love engaging in the brabble. Not so much anymore. I have managed to make some good friends along the way, however.
LOL! I am not one to give official awards here at WFTD, but if I were, that would be a winner.
