If Donald Trump is your drunk uncle at Thanksgiving then Ted Cruz is the charming sociopath your sister brings to Christmas. During a speech at the Rising Tide Summit in Iowa, the freshman senator from Texas whipped the crowd into a frenzy by suggesting President Barack Obama wasn't doing enough to defeat radical Islam.
Cruz thinks he can do better. "We will utterly destroy ISIS," he said. "We will carpet bomb them into oblivion. I don't know if sand can glow in the dark, but we're going to find out."
That's right, Ted Cruz just promised to nuke the Middle East if elected.

No. Cruz is not the madman that people who hate him try to portray. He would use necessary force. Nukes have always been on the table as a last resort if it comes to that. It is campaign rhetoric to show he has the will to use any necessary force. Anyone who wants to interpret it different is doing so to create a false image of someone they hate.
I’m sure his bold BS will win him many extra general electorate votes too. get him talking about rape and abortion too and he’ll be ubeatable.
Why is it crazy to respond to someone, who has ALREADY declared all out war against you with the goal of wiping you and your people and your entire way of life off the face of the earth, by wiping them off the face of the earth?
Have you not realized that every moslem on the planet has been commanded to kill you and your family (assuming you are not moslem yourself)?

islam is the enemy of all civilized life on this planet and must be destroyed. Closing our eyes and refusing to admit that will just make the deaths of our families and children that much more likely.
We are already in a war with radical Islamists, only we haven’t got a leader who will fight back so it’s a little one sided right now. Trump said, specifically, that he would use nukes against ISIS. Cruz implied that he would also. The other side has PROMISED they will use nukes against us as soon as they can make them. I think that scenario you describe is coming, no matter what we do, and I want to be on the winning side.

Why? Because he had a spine and was ready to defend our nation!! There is still a silent majority in this country who will vote for a real American (conservative) if the GOP ever nominates one.
Why has Trump been doing so well? Because he has been talking tough against our enemies foreign and domestic. Most Americans know that he is an egotistical, narcissictic blowhard who's only concern is for himself. But he's been the loudest voice saying what most of us agree with.
Now it's time for Cruz, a true Christian and a true conservative, to stand up and talk tough. He'll beat anything the leftists can throw at him.
Now is our chance to elect a real Conservative.

To take it literally, there are no concentration of ISIS forces in the Middle East that could be nuked without a wholesale slaughter of civilians.
Trump can wrap that kind of unbalanced extremist rhetoric around Cruz’s neck Saturday night. Cruz will regret bringing that back up.
even Obama said he would IF HE HAD TO. They all say that. I think Ted ernt beyond that though and again, I only mention it as an illustration of his hypocrisy since he’s questioning Trump’s temperament.

The historical idea of using nukes is for surgical strikes, not using them to carpet bomb.

Totally missed the point - Cruz is claiming that Trump is the type warmonger that would nuke Denmark - Cruz spoke glibly of actually nuking an area until the sand glowed.
Anyone that speaks loosely of deploying that kind of nuke power sounds more like the megalomaniac than Trump ever has.
I say that as a Cruz supporter who has sent him a lot of my money.
Situational honesty is as dishonest as outright Clintonesque and Obama-Ramaesque lies and our side needs to get a grip on the whole picture and do some honest evaluation instead of the manure that keeps floating around so many posts/quips.
I am for Trump all the way but now I need to re evaluate Cruz. I too want to know if sand can glow in the dark.
