Nothing there requires the Senate to give its consent for any nominee, nor is there a time frame for filling a vacancy. It is entirely in the hands of the Senate to do as it pleases in the matter.

This is true. Obama will present a nomination. This should be considered veeeeeery carefully. Should take at least six months. Grave doubts will emerge. The nominee should probably be called back two or three times to clarify statements. In the end, unless he will acknowledge that Roe was pure judicial invention and denounce Obama's unconstitutional executive overreach, Republicans must sadly vote no. Obama can then send up another nominee. Along about October.
