Comcast Outage Nationwide

Posted on 02/15/2016 8:42:36 AM PST by MrMarbles

Who else is having problems today with their Comcast TV? From what I'm seeing online it looks like a nationwide problem. I can't get through to anyone in customer support. Does anyone have any information from Comcast about this issue? Thanks.

We did have horrible service back before their upgrade five years ago. It was called Embarq back then.

I watched the episode about the Apache last night. It was a good show.

Must be those aliens approaching our planet and blocking the communications satellites. They couldn’t wait until Independence Day to invade this time, they picked Presidents Day to catch us by surprise.

Hmmm. I had CenturyLink for years. The DSL was always below advertised speed. They told me one of the paired lines was out in the area and wasn’t worth the money to fix. I dumped them and went with my HOA Tv provider cable system. Paid extra for optional speed boost. Now, for less money than I paid CenturyLink for DSL, I get 20 mbps. I’ve been paying for but not watching the HOA cable because they don’t carry NFL Sunday ticket. It’s a waste but still better than DSL. 34481

Lost tv here in SW Florida but it came back about 12:20. Don’t know how long it was out since I was out of the house most of the morning.

Yep. Our HD starts at 701. But the low-HDs (local) are working ok. The upper-HDs seem to be out.

We were out for about an hour (10 to 11am CST) Comcast has horrible customer service, can’t talk to the same person twice. I had problems from day one but it got much worse in May. Problem finally resolved in late January dozens of calls and signals sent, I don’t know how many CR numbers, Can’t talk to management, even the let me know about your problem link to Kruikshank doesn’t work. Finally got the same guy out to the house twice, probably a half dozen other servicemen had been here. Problem was the wrong power pack? had been installed. All there employees were good. The problem with Comcast is management and their operating procedures. I believe there infrastructure is old and outdated and they are overwhelmed with complaints. Several times management was supposed to call me but didn’t. I am now composing my letter to the Mississippi PSC.

“My Direct TV is working just fine! lol Sorry, I just had to.”

You probably wouldn’t want to here about my experience with Direct TV, had to do with boxes failing and one caught fire. I switched to Dish but now my only option is with Comcast, too many trees for Dish. I’ll never have Direct again. Dish was the best I’ve had from service to lack of problems.

Comcast/Xfinity has customer support? I know they have lying and uselessness and blathering and incompetence, but support? I don't think so.

The local HD stations are probably just received via a basic antenna, converted and rebroadcast down the cable.

How are the HD and premium stations broadcast around the country — via Satellite? Or some kind of repeaters?

All the major metropolitan areas in the US.

Any Presidential candidate could win the election just by promising to enact legislation that the telecoms and cable companies provide pro-rata refunds when service is down or below normal, and end bundling. They could extend that to flights that are delayed or cancelled (and make the airlines use realistic flight times).

Comcast customer support is a joke. A very bad joke.

I had to call their tech support because my internet was down, and the clown insisted he was gonna sign me up for a two year contract..to which I responded, over and over again, “NO!What part of NO don’t you understand?”

He was being very tricky about it..he kept trying to slip the “two year contract” thing into the discussion..he obviously thought he could slip all sorts of technical jargon into the conversation to confuse me, at which point he would bring up the “two year contract” thing again.
Didn’t work with me. I did get his name, or at least it was the name he gave me, and I filed a complaint with Comcast, and received no response, surprise, surprise.
I’d go elsewhere but Comcast is the only game in town where I live.
Scumbags.

You are right there ARE like 1500 Spanish channels.
You ever notice how ALL of the English channels are also simulcast in Spanish but NON of the Spanish channels are simulcast in English?

I would HATE for my Comcast to go out, How would i watch my endless Law and Order, Golden Girls and Fresh Prince episodes?
Even an hour without 78 channels of infomercials would kill me...
What no 32 channels showing the same episodes at the same time of Raymond, King of Queens and How i met your mother?
ARGH!!!

Wow last during our TWD premier of the new season, it froze for a long time, than I switch channels, and only a few were frozen but other were working. I was pissed because my watching of TWD got screwed. I hope Comcast Demand is not like that I am going to rewatch it again and it better not freeze. The only cable companies that is available is Comcast and Wave.

Again it happen this morning, so something is going on. I don’t want this to happen while I’m watching TWD.

The ‘tech’ sent out for our initial hookup spent ninety minutes completely screwing the wiring. And then wanted me to sign their little ‘yes, I agree, everything is wonderful and peachy’ release form. Ummm, no. A supervisor appeared next day and had it going in about fifteen minutes, part of which was correcting the first guy’s work.

Had a support guy on the phone tell me I could route internet signals from the modem through the set top box to my blu-ray player. The next guy down the line told me it wasn’t possible. Liars.
