My house is at 8,500 ft elevation.
We’re a little over 9K here in south park. Surprised how that affects things (like cooking and chip bags almost explode when we bring them from town). Wish I had your car budget, MC!
I got hit head on two weeks ago coming back from Denver. Totaled the wifes F-150 but I walked away. So we do have a new(er) F-150 now. LOL!
It is nice in the summer. We don’t even have air conditioning, only heat.
Yes, just furnace and wood stove, windows for cooling. 45 minutes to the first traffic light. And you have RMNP, we have 14ers. People should know, Denver isn't Colorado.
I’m at 7500, and understand the cooking issues etc. I drive a Honda S2000 and don’t seem to notice that it suffers from the altitude.
I had issues with a company that Mrs. Slim got a mini-tiller from, it wouldn’t mix wet cow flop. Couldn’t adjust the carb. Finally they admitted, “Only 1% of people live at your altitude or above”... So I said “I actually look down on 99% of the people in the world?”
Where in NM are you? I lived in Albuquerque for a while yeat=rs ago. Was working at Kirtland AFB.
The old carbureted Ford Bronco runs a little rich but not too bad.
I ordered a ventless heater for the family room, wouldn’t run because it shut off on the oxygen sensor. Called the company and they said it won’t work over 4000 ft. I asked they why they even shipped to a CO address, let alone here. LOL. Oh well.
Take care!
I’m near Tijeras in the East Mountains. About 25 miles from the base.
Had a Suzuki 600 that no matter how it was jetted had to be “warm” to start. Would have to leave it in the sun for an hour to get it to run. Hated that bike.
