Evangelical broadcaster James Dobson Wednesday praised Ted Cruz's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, saying in a new television ad that the Texas senator is critical to naming more conservatives to the Supreme Court. "With Justice Scalia's death, we need a president who will defend the Constitution and nominate conservatives to the high court," Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, said in endorsing Cruz as a private citizen.
"I know Ted," Dobson said. "He's a Christian family man of the utmost integrity."

I was pretty much ignorant of DT initially and really appreciated his willingness to speak many of the non-PC truths that the leftist culture has been demonized us into silence about.

I am sure that I probably am quicker to respond to posts that attack my candidate and people that I support. That’s human nature and I certainly am not perfect. However, I hope you noticed that I did praise the Trump supporters who were defending Dr. Dobson.

Yes, it is human nature to defend one’s choice, and I don’t expect anyone to be perfect, as I am not either. I also know that it is election season and that everyone is high-strung. I expect there to be discontent between supporters of different candidates.
Religion in politics is a very sensitive subject matter. Please understand that my religious views are my religious views as yours are yours. I’m not going to tolerate someone questioning them or suggesting that I follow a cult, as I expect that everyone else would want the same. If you want to callout those for pushing religious blasphemy, religious innuendoes, or attacks of one’s beliefs, I am 100% for it, but don’t call them out and while doing the exact same thing they are doing.
I can respect your choice in candidate, as I hope you can do the same for me and others. Good Luck in the upcoming primaries.

I can understand you might recoil from what is obviously a staged presentation of faith. However, how would a man of faith “get the word out” in today’s media and culture to those who have not become aware?
I believe our squeamishness about expressing our faith is a result of Satan’s efforts and design. The church needs to stand and act against the forces who want us to make it private and unpopular, supporting His Great Commission.
Cruz made a very bold statement when he announced his candidacy from the stage of Liberty University (”The largest Christian University in the world”) citing his faith and effectively asking the church to support him.
He has not backed away from that announcement since - I would question his faith if he did. Having started from that point, I would expect him to continue.
It discourages me that so many have been caught up in intentional and unintentional misinformation and won’t maintain an open mind looking with discernment for the truth.
I pray that will change.
Mr. Dobson did not tell anyone how to vote - he expressed his support as a private citizen.
Personally, I wish there were more people who have walked the walk like him who are willing to provide their perspective allowing others to improve their and their families’ lot.
By the way, have you ever heard of the “Black Robed Regiment” of the American Revolution? Do you think we would be here if they hadn’t influenced the people in their congregations?

What I’ve seen is hyperbole regarding Cruz - I would appreciate being informed of any verifiable instance you or anyone else might provide regarding Cruz lying, that is, intentionally deceiving. (We ALL make mistakes and as leaders should accept responsibility for the actions of those we lead.)
Sorry, but I don’t know why you’re associating me with Ted Haggard - I didn’t know about him until you mentioned his name and I searched the internet.
I’m sure you’ve heard that all fall short of the Glory of God. Some of us recognize it and attempt repeatedly to repent, and fail - until with the help of the Holy Spirit overcome one of our shortcomings.
It appears to me you have it in for “Evangelicals”. Is that your group of ‘faux Christians’? Is there a basis for your grudge or is it just bigotry?

He is the ONLY one that is running a very dishonest campaign. Sorry you can’t see it, but there has been tons of examples of distortion and outright lies. His “win at all cost” is what is losing his quest for the nomination. He truly makes Nixon an amateur. I hope you wake up before it is too late and you are left with fumes. You seem like a very nice person but your integrity is being in jeopardy for supporting a very dishonest politician.
