Has anyone here gone on one of these cruses?
It just does not sound very appealing to me... maybe it is a fun time
It also contains a landfill. Which doesn’t help
Not top heavy or it would capsize. Anywhere that has people is disease ridden.
If you like to eat, drink and gamble then I’ve heard they’re great.
You do realize that would mean many people would die, right? I guess that is proper payback for you not having the same experience your travel agent claimed to have.
I’ve never understood the allure of these cruises.
Maybe in the 80s it was a big deal, but today they seem like they are just floating motels. You are going on vacation with the people you are trying to get away from!
“Hopefully it ends up like Atlantis”
Yes... And kills 5,000 innocent people. Very optimistic point of view.
I don’t see any Norovirus on there.

I enjoyed it. Unlimited drinks and the food was good. Plenty of stuff to do.
Best afternoon was spent at a oceanfront bar in Playa del Carmen, drinking Bohemia, eating fresh guacamole, and watching all of the cruise ships ferry back and forth. Hard to get more relaxed than that and still maintain a pulse.
I look at them like CATTLE CARRIERS (never get downwind}
but if it makes people HAPPY then that is great
watched them pull into st thomas and caymans and they essentially drive the economies and are truly amazing looking ships
for the carribs, no cruise ships no economy...
they come and go right in front of frenchman’s reef and look like a floating skyscraper...
My theory is that the cases of passengers getting sick greatly increased when they quit throwing the garbage over the side after each meal.
My wife and I went on one cruise and loved it. We planned to do it again but her cancer diagnosis ended those plans. Now that she's gone it's one of the great memories I have of our time together.
I enjoyed cruising and would do it again.
I’ve been on a couple on the “Large” ships. It is a lot of fun. You are in a different port almost every morning when you wake up. Surprisingly, the very large ships don’t seem that crowded as they compensate the size of the ship to the maximum crowd on board. I’ve never had to stand in line for pretty much anything.
Having a balcony is a must. Sitting outside watching the sun set from a private balcony is a hell of a way to see the end of the day!
I’d rather take a trip on an Ocean Liner.
I’ll stick with my kayak. Far cheaper and more peaceful.
I was skeptical of cruising too until I went on our first cruise. We'll soon be departing on our fourth. I understand why that would be a very fond memory.
My wife and I went on a Disney cruise for our honeymoon. I was weary of it thinking it might be too much for kids and was very surprised how much there is to do if you don’t have children. They have a whole section of the ship that is “no kids”. There are no casinos on the ship, but it did have alcohol in the adult areas. Additionally, they also had whole areas dedicated to every age level of children where parents could drop off their kids with Disney characters all day.
The food and restaurants were some of the best I’ve ever had and while it wasn’t buffet, it was all you could eat. They would hand you the menu like any other restaurant, but you could literally say you wanted everything on the menu and they would bring it to you. The only extra charge was if you wanted alcohol. One night, they had a preset option of 3 meal options that included appetizer, entree, and desert. I couldn’t decide so the server brought me both. That’s 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 deserts. I have no regrets of finishing all that food. Needless to say, we left a nice tip for our server when the trip was over.
I don’t know what it is about a “Cruise” that attracts so many people.
None of the places these things go are all that memorable, and everything closes up at 5:00pm. the ship pulls out of port and sits offshore until the designated hour and then goes to the next location and arrives at 6:30 for a 7:00 flood on to the streets the port. What is there in these towns....zero. Stores selling crap.
Most of these rocks are desert islands, with few features of note. The islands are dirty, with litter everywhere, and few have real sewer systems just an open trough that runs into the ocean.
Never again.
